We just flew into Portland and we were looking for a place to eat on our way out towards Hood River. This place had great reviews so we decided to try it. Great meal at an unassuming spot.

I chose this Thai restaurant because it's between my home and work and I wanted to grab something for dinner on my way home and it had 4.7 stars so I felt like I couldn't go wrong. Well, it did. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai for $15 with no spice and the Shrimps in a Blanket. My pad Thai had six shrimp, the noodles were all cut very short so every bite was small, and it was so spicy that I couldn't bear to eat it and the few bites I did try made me sick. The Shrimp in a Blanket was very bland and the shrimp was way over cooked. My boyfriend ordered the Mussaman Curry with Medium spice and his was less spicy than mine somehow. $43 later and I have a stomach ache and have to find something else to eat for dinner. Very sad.

This was my favorite Thai place but Monday I went and got some food and it was not the same as usual. The Tom yum was not fragrant and was missing some lemongrass. It was chock full of mushrooms and there were very few shrimp. The flavor missed. Then the cashew chicken was lacking garlic and a little sweetness. I make the recipes at home as well as eat them out. This time it was a miss and I will say it was likely a different cook. 5 stars for being good most of the time and 3 for being mediocre at best the last time for an average of 4 stars.

Sa Bai cought my eye because it had good reviews, and I'm so glad I tried it!The location is an unassuming strip mall on the outside but inside it had a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the kitchen had our lunch out nice and quick. The salad rolls were delicious, made with fresh veggies and tasty chicken and served with a savory peanut sauce which had just a little bit of spiciness to it.My Pad Thai was quite likely the best I've ever had! A generous amount of sauce with a nice tang to it surrounding perfectly cooked noodles and fresh crispy bean sprouts. The portion sizes were big enough to bring leftovers home, which really helps with the overall value of eating out in today's world of inflating prices.I'm definitely going back again, as there are lots of dishes on the menu that I will want to try! And, of course, they are trans friendly ?️‍??

Visiting the Portland Area from Missouri. This is incredible Thai food. The noodles were perfect and staff was friendly.

Disclaimer!! Their medium spice level is equal to HOT! God knows what hot spice level would be! We weren’t even warned that medium (what we normally order at every Thai place) would be equivalent to hot! My ears were red and stomach was burning with that spicy food they made! The spice was with tons of red chilly flakes! That’s literally the only thing they add to the food! And the staff , when informed about the problem, didn’t even accept their mistake or fix the spice for us! That was the most disappointing part!

Nice food. Good flavors. But little arrogance. Will lie and not admit missing out on telling you that their “medium is hot” and when you ask them “hey, why my food is so hot”, they will say “we communicated to you that our medium is hot”, even if they didn’t !!!!

We had the drunken noodles and tom kha. It was fantastic, would definitely recommend.

Everything was delicious. I had Mussaman Curry and my boyfriend had Red Curry. It arrived piping hot and tasted great. The service was excellent and the staff is very friendly. Mine was very spicy so if you’re not a fan of spice, go with the mild. I love spice so I enjoyed it very much. They also served their water infused with lemon which was a refreshing surprise. Next time I’m back in Portland, I’ll definitely make this restaurant a stop. Highly recommend

Excellent food, clean and good service. Love this place. Couldnt get a good pic because we were too busy enjoying the food.
