Perfect hole in the wall bar with a nice menu and a very large, covered back patio. I can’t believe I’m not already a regular at this place.The bartender was super efficient and friendly. The food menu is slightly elevated for bar food but still what you’re looking for when you’re craving bar food.The patio has tons of separate seating areas, a TV and it is well covered for rainy days. The patio is also dog friendly and (even though it’s almost completely closed-in) smoke friendly as there was a table of about 10 old white dudes smoking pipes just fumigating the place. I don’t recommend going on pipe club day.Parking can be a challenge in the neighborhood.
Great patio and the drinks were awesome but there were quite a few people smoking on the patio and it's pretty enclosed. Don't know if I'll be back but if cigarette smoke doesn't bother you then I highly recommend!
Bartenders have a fun and sassy attitude which is welcoming. On my first day I asked if the patio was smoking friendly and they said it was required. Ha! Looking forward to coming back here soon
Great Bar, great service, great food, meatloaf is the best I’ve ever had, Scottish egg and the Korean cauliflower are awesome too! Patio is large and spacious with TVs! There is one side dedicated to smokers and it does happen to be at the top of the stairs so even if you smell smoke right Away don’t worry! Fresh air is right around the corner on the other side of the patio! As for those people leaving low review because of it” being dark/ needs decoration/ smells like smoke outside, the bartender didn’t take kindly my corny joke” YOU are the problem! This place breathes old Portland culture and is very authentic to the neighborhood! Great mix of all different types of people.
Solid pub with a friendly staff, video poker and a large covered outdoor patio. Normally solid pub food but tonight my dish was cold although it still had great flavor. Always a great random spot to check out.
Don't let the dark entrance fool you - the food is fantastic and their cocktails are well made.The burgers were juicy and flavorful, the meatloaf was better than what I make at home, and the scotch eggs are a must.Our group ordered some classic cocktails (old fashioned, etc.) as well as some of their signature drinks (Kilt Lifter, yes please!). For a place that looks like a dive, nothing was watered down and the bartenders took care to muddle, shake, and flame glasses.Lots of tables in a covered outdoor area (many with heaters) and a few tables inside.
Excellent!Good selection of tap beer and cocktails. Amazing food. I had the fish and chips - very well done. Tasty breading, flaky fish and malt vinegar. Very tasteful atmosphere with an amazing patio. Friendly staff.
The staff and location are great here. Drinks were on point!The only thing I would suggest is adding more heaters to the outside top area. Only one was over a table and the others had none where we were.
Last night I asked the bartender to pour me his favorite beer. He loudly said " we're adults here, we make our own choices, the menu is on the right." Maybe my guy was having a rough night.Back patio filled with smoke. Didn't hang around for more than one drink.
Best dive/backyard on inner NE Broadway. Cool staff and solid food. Backyard is dope, trivia night is fun. Great neighborhood spot.
