The food was fine and the drinks were fine, but I was a bit put off watching people pour themselves shots behind the bar and pop open bottles of Sprite only to crouch down in hopes no one would see them taking said shots, meanwhile waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our food. It’s a bit discouraging to be paying for an experience and seeing the staff getting drunk while you’re hungry and waiting an egregious amount of time for tacos.

I’ve been coming here for years for both personal and business meals as I work nearby. I’ve always recommended this place to family and friends but unfortunately I just can’t anymore. My last few visits over the last year been riddled with inconsistencies and long waits.Against my partners discretion we came this weekend with her cousin. The place was not busy at all in comparison to other times that I’ve come. We got our drinks ordered. Nothing too complicated as we skipped the cocktails this time and got bottled soda and drinks on tap. I never got my drink. I did ask several times if I could get it. But in the end it never came at which point I asked the server to disregard my drink altogether since we just wanted to leave. As for the food. My partners cousin asked for limes but it took several reminders to actually get them. She also asked for sour cream (which they charged $ for) all this while her food was getting cold. She did ask the limes and sour cream when we placed our order. We also got the California burrito which we all agreed tasted fishy and ended up tossing. Finally we got an order of nachos and per usual upgraded to the pollo asada. The nachos came with shredded chicken. The server asked if we wanted fresh ones or if we wanted to keep those and they’d bring a side of the chicken we ordered. To make it easier for everyone we chose to get the chicken on the side since she offered that option. We figured it’d be fairly quick. You know because that option was offered to us and most people understand that a meal is eaten together. Guess again it took 20 plus minutes to get the correct chicken. We didn’t even end up touching that or the shredded chicken that came with the nachos. Ugh. Disaster. All this happened and to have to pay for this service/quality was unfortunate. Luckily this bill was under $50 this time. Most times our bills are double or triple that amount and we’ve been getting worse and worse service/ food quality every visit which is why I was inclined to leave this review.

This is the best Mexican food in Portland! I love the modern mexican decor, the service is always good and the food...amazing. I love the queso, Ponce's tacos and I always get 2 cheese enchiladas ( one with verde salsa and one with red)...all delicious! This is not the typical mexican restaurant where all the food looks like it's pre made sitting in the kitchen in pots & is slopped together on a big plate and everything looks the same. Here they prepare the food fresh as you order it and you can tell its quality ingredients not canned/bagged. Homemade chips, homemade queso etc. The meals are good normal portions.

I order the enchilada meal ! I must be honest ..NOT GOOD at all! you can tell they put the corn tortilla in microwave it needs to be fried ...the beans was dry no flavor! the mexican rice tasted salty...by the taste they did not fry it or use TOMATE tasted like they put salt in MEXICAN rice!the customer service they was rude! did not want to give me back my change they felt entitle of a tip! they took so long to service me they help people before me that came in later then i did.... i felt like i was out of place as a true mexican women i felt they did not want to serve me but had no choice.... one of the servers Oscar was the rude's!! i'm only leaving this review in hopes they review and adjust the service and improve of FOOD!

Absolutely incredible food and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). I got tacos but the burrito will be next time.Service was 10/5 stars and the vibe was fun. Will be going back within a week lol

Just got done eating here. The servers were fantastic and friendly. Food was good, the house marg was solid. Very nice all in all.

A great place for amazing fish tacos. Everything is delicious even the staples like rice and beans.

This place is fantastic eats and even better drinks. Seriously some of the best margaritas I've had in Portland. The food is excellent and some may think I'm crazy but the hard tacos are rad and harder to find than you think. Fajitas, street tacos, whatever your jam - Rocio's is worth checking out.

Food was very good! Service was fast and attentive. Can’t wait to go back and get another margarita.

Awesome vibe, staff, drinks and food! Always fresh, always a great time. Tough to find good Mexican food in PDX but I would add this to the *top* of your list! A must-try, then try again and again!❤????????❤#SEPDX#Mexican#YASSSS
