Great food, awesome service, large portions.Lemon chicken with lime sauce and greensStir-fried green curry beef and riceEnough food to fill us up and leftovers.Every time I visit Portland for work, this is a top go-to.

We have been in search of good Thai take out since our favorite place in NW, eSan Thai off NW Thurman, closed down awhile back. But every time we order from some place new, we are sadly disappointed… until tonight.Red Onion is officially our new go to place for anything and everything Thai. Their food was positively on point and so delicious, with the flavors absolutely bursting in your mouth with every bite. You won’t find any of that bland Thai food that you get at most places here.We decided to go with the basics our first time around and had the Pad Thai, the Pineapple Fried Rice, Tom Kha Soup and Fried Egg Rolls, and everything was divine! We will definitely step out of our comfort zone and be a little more adventurous the next time we visit as I’m sure we will be pleased with whatever we order. If it was this good on takeout, I cannot even imagine how good it would be if we had eaten it fresh at the restaurant when it was still piping hot. I took pics, but they honestly don’t even begin to do it justice.Overall, if you are looking for good quality tasty Thai food in Portland, this is THE PLACE to go. Dine in or take out, you won’t be disappointed.

What a great restaurant. We enjoyed lots of delicious food and drinks. My favorite dish is the crab fried rice. The Dungeness crab is so good. We also ordered Red Curry, Pad Thai and Mango Prawns! Everything came out really hot and the spice level was exactly how we ordered it. The portions are so big we had plenty to take home. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves flavorful and authentic Thai food. After we ate dinner we did some shopping at Restoration Hardware and had ice cream at Salt and Straw. Everything is super close. The restaurant is located in the heart of one of Portland’s best shopping districts. I will post pictures soon of all the yummy dishes!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and the experience was below par. This is the first time I have experienced such poor service from a restaurant with such good ratings, and would have given -1 stars if that was possible. Although the food and serving size can be considered to be above average, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a good dine in experience in town. The staff is unnecessarily rude, impolite, unprofessional and seem to have no experience in service or management skills.Managing a restaurant business, you should know that if a large party is coming to dine in (especially for dinner)there is a certain time that the party would take to wrap up their dinner, and if you can't serve you should make it clear before seating the customers. Right from the time we started to look at the menu to the point we payed up, we were continuously being bugged about the time to the point we had to pack up our food mid-meal because of the kind of impolite behavior. When we tried to politely share our concern after packing our boxes, they were unnecessarily rude to the point of telling us stuff like not to talk so that we had finished our meal quickly, and threatening not to serve us the next time. Being in the service sector, you should have better experience in handling customer concerns and knowing how to talk with customers, and this seems to show that the restaurant doesn't care about their customers. Definitely not a place you should go to with your friends/family if you are going to enjoy a peaceful meal (especially if it's not a strict school lunch break you are looking for :))! There are far more Thai restaurants on that street that will provide you better service and value for your meal.

Worst service experienced here. It was a Saturday night and we came by 8:50pm and the restaurant server, who told us is the owner’s son, offered us to dine in. Being in the restaurant business, he should first hand know that a party of 5 will easily take atleast an hour to complete their meal. Instead, he continuously kept coming to our table, bugging us to eat fast and leave the place as its closing time and didn’t allow us to finish our meal in peace. We understand that it’s pandemic times and restaurants need to close by closing time. But the person needs to learn being polite, have some customer service etiquettes and set clear expectations first hand. There are a ton of Thai food restaurants in Portland and suburb area, offering better tasting and similar food options. More importantly, the food can’t help if they continue such service mishandling.

This is my favorite Thai place in Portland. Large potions, great flavor and quality. The Angel Wings are AMAZING. The brown rice is more like wild rice, definitely worth it.

We went for the lunch special for take out. Got the drunken noodles and chef special with prawns. The chef special was a disaster! Very little sauce. Pictures are before taking a bite. Will not be going back. Too many other places to explore and enjoy![I tried responding to email provided by owner but I received a reply from Google that there is no such email address]

I enjoyed my rainbow flight, the menu is very big so lots a variety, and the staff was very quick! A nice quick eats place, i got the noodle curry, but didn’t realize what kind of noodles oops, still tasted great regardless!

Food was great and recommended item perfect: chili chicken

Had a Pad See Ew with squid and an iced Thai coffee. Both were really great!
