First time back to this location since the sushi restaurant exited this space.We sat down and were promptly greeted by our server Mina??-- (I think that was her name). Mina was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the dining options, helping us navigate the Qiao NH menu.We ran with Mina's recommendations and we were not disappointed.The cucumber salad app was delicious. Extra crunchy small cukes marinated in a garlic, soy sauce marinade. Perfectly spiced and nicely presented. For the main course we ordered the beef in Golden Broth with noodles on the side. Again , delicious, with just the right amount of kick for me ( a bit spicy for my dining partner.) The soups come with about 7 or 8 add ins with Mina expertly mixed into the hot , seasoned broth.All cooking of the soup when it come out of the kitchen is done at the table you are sitting at. A fun experience!A very tasty , reasonably priced and comfortable restaurant.I would not hesitate to come back when in the neighborhood.Recommended!
Nice comforting food with generous portions and delicious rice noodles. Restaurant was clean, new and spacious. Seasoning is a little quieter than previous iterations of Yunnan cuisine I’ve tried in Brooklyn and Beijing but still delicious - just a little less mouth numbing or tingling with spices. I tried the original broth for crossing the bridge noodles but might try another version on my next visit!
Really great crossing-the-bridge noodles! I think this is the only restaurant in Portland specializing in this Yunnan Chinese dish. I enjoyed every bite of the hot & spicy. I also ordered the cucumber salad and it was fantastic. So happy to see this restaurant in the neighborhood.
Such a fantastic place to have found. The rice noodle soups are incredible. I had the pork belly and original broth. Fantastic! My son had the intestines and loved it. Strong and genuine flavor in that one. The cucumber salad was so memorable with its spice, sesame oil and layers of flavor. I highly recommend giving this unique spot a try.
Good place for some Yunan Guo Qiao Rice Noodles experience. It’s a bit pricy. The table for 4 is a bit small for their style of dishes. Their Golden flavor base is recommended, not so much for the spicy soup base.
Nice concept; a welcome alternative to typical hot pot. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the menu was just the right size: enough variety without being overwhelming. All of the dishes we ordered tasted great.But I probably won't return for just one reason: The broth was way, way too salty. My friend and I ordered the original and tomato broths for our noodle soups, and both of us felt completely knocked out for the rest of the afternoon due to the high salt content.I hope they can tone it down in the future, since in all other respects this is a great restaurant.
The food is very flavorful and good portion. We ordered 2 orders of the yunan style soup noodle, fed 3 adults with left overs. We were all too full. Very spacious and clean restaurant. The chef, Qiao is passionate in cooking and very friendly.
We saw the coming soon sign for about a year before they opened, first time we tried their takeout it was amazing lots of little different vegetables and flavors that aren’t listed on the menu are included in the dish. Second time we came in for hot soup, everything comes separate so that you may add. Delicious flavors. Very nice workers and everything came out quickly, they took a moment to explain how to enjoy our soup properly. I hope their business picks up and they stay around!
This place is delicious. Their soups are full of deep flavors. We tried their Spicy Beef Stew and their Golden Spicy Pork. Both were great. We also tried the fries and popcorn chicken. We'll get both appetizers again for sure. The place is cute and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Very interesting experience! Noodles soup was tasty! We got the Chinese mustard green soup base. We were the only one there for lunch. Great service and food was fast!
