If your restaurant has the word biscuit in the name the biscuits should be pretty dang good. They were just meh. I really wanted to order the pancakes anyway or maybe hash browns but the sign said- no pancakes or hash browns because of the heat… literally. They wouldn’t make either dish because it’s hot out. Come on!! It’s July. It’s going to be hot. Turn on a fan and get to cooking. You’re only open until 2! That’s well before the day gets too hot to make a damn pancake. Anyway the biscuits were just bland. Chicken was tough and tasteless. There are better breakfast places. Skip this one.
Hush puppies were unacceptably burnt, although that may just be Pine State’s style of puppy. I’m a big fan of hush puppies and these are nothing like traditional hush puppies. If you like things done extra well, they’re for you.The club sandwich was delicious although I had to adjust the lettuce. I’m not quite sure why it’s served so tall.Overall I would recommend this place but do not get the hush puppies.
The food is delicious and sevice was fantastic! The only reason I'm docking a star is because the website and menu is a bit misleading. The reason I chose this place to eat today was because "vegan" was plastered all over their reviews and (V) is used on their visual menu. Usually, (V) is used exclusively for vegan food. In this case, it's pretty exclusively vegetarian. There is only 1 vegan option here.Maybe, just maybe, my review will help others from being mistaken - they DO NOT HAVE vegan buscuits and gravy. They are vegetarian only! I am not a vegan, but can't eat dairy (which is why my food pic is in contrast to my lack of vegan options complaint).Anyways, the food I has was outstanding and so was the coffee! I do highly recommend eating here if you're vegetarian!
We went here 2nd week of may.Doesn't look like much when you past it, we had to turn twice to find the place and its hard to find a parking spot. When you get in, the interior is kind of a laid back,in the entrance you can see then making the biscuit its my favorite part. We ordered fried chicken steak, the reggie, and some cheese french fries. It was very good, you can really taste the freshness of the biscuit. They also have friendly staff. We rate 4/5 overall, it was a good experience, good food, nice people, we just dont like having to stay at the line to order and we have to bus our own table.
We are from Alabama, known for our southern cuisine where biscuits and gravy is a staple. But let me be the first to say these biscuits are amazing and delicious ! Highly recommend and don’t sleep on the delicious gravy!
Good was good, very creative. Service was friendly and fast. Atmosphere was great. We went at an of peak time and the was allot of space but still there were a decent amount of people. I went with people who knew about this place from a Reno location but I had never been. I would recommend trying their home made pop tart things. It just seems like they are a million calories but very good. Overall recommended and we will be going back
I want to start off by saying I have been in the service/ restaurant industry for over eight years and very much respect the time and efforts of industry work/ workers. That being said went out with my sister for a late lunch to pine state’s location on division ( I have been to their Alberta location countless times.) We were one of two parties present waiting to order, the party ahead of us was waiting roughly ten minutes to order, us an additional ten minutes. Granted this is understandable as orders need to be staggered as to ensure that the kitchen isn’t overloaded however- we watched the host answer and take a to go order after we had been waiting for a good while. The aspect however that is prompting this review is the blatant disregard for basic health code guidelines displayed by kitchen workers. As a guest you can see directly into the kitchen, and we watched a guy stand around showing pictures on his phone to a co worker, eating food straight from pan that was then plated for costumers without any sort of hand washing/ glove wearing. The individual was not wearing a mask however can’t hold that against him given that there is no mask mandate. After the couple years we have had avoiding this behavior(especially as a freaking service worker) should be common practice. This dude legitimately seemed to have zero regard for any type of cleanliness/ food Saftey which is a massive hazard and liability. I’m blown away from the careless service that we experienced and witnessed. Needless to say we addressed the staff and chose to not fulfill our dining experience. We did not take pictures as there was a sign that clearly stated not to, however I will remember ever detail of this experience as I really have never seen anything like it.
Great price point, good portions, and delicious! Drop coffee can be refilled with a station that has different choices of roast, and they offer all sorts of alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections. Save some room for the sweets - the biscuit beignets are delicious!
Amazing food and service! The biscuits are obviously great, but the cold brew and Arnold Palmer also blew us away!
I dined at Pine State Biscuits on Division with my girlfriend a few days ago, and it was a bittersweet experience. I have been searching for a place to enjoy biscuits and gravy, and my Google search led me to this restaurant. My girlfriend is a great sport, and she accompanied me, although she was not on a similar mission.I ordered Biscuits 'N' Gravy and a side of hashbrowns with scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. For anyone inquiring, if you order hashbrowns, it takes 15 minutes to prepare, so consider that in addition to the other meal items you order. Although the meal itself took some time to reach our table, it wasn't too bad.Being a Georgia native, I have high expectations for biscuits and gravy, and I'd rate these a 3.5 out of 5. The hashbrowns were seasoned, which was a pleasant surprise but maybe salty for some people. My girlfriend is so used to having to add salt that she instinctively did so and was in for an experience. It's a different restaurant experience as you seat yourself, bus your table, and utilize a shared restroom with other businesses in the main hallway. Parking was not a hassle, and indoor and outdoor seating was available. It wasn't the worst dining experience, but it did leave me wishing it was more.
