Staff was friendly and accommodating even while short staffed at a super busy time, I was told they have the best Ruben in town, and from what I experienced, I have no reason to doubt it! Flavorful and not drenched and dripping with dressing, it was a darn good Ruben. They also had a special Peated Pear cocktail that was excellent, with a strong Pear flavor complemented by the peatiness of a Laphroaig Scotch.
After checking into our hotel Monday evening, we walked over to the bar as it was one of the few nearby places open at the time. This classic looking bar has high ceilings which allows them to showcase the extensive liquor on a wall behind the bar. There are booths, tables and bar seating. The bartender gave us information about the local beers on tap and brewery recommendations for the few days we were in town. I had a couple local beers, a scotch egg and a nice bourbon to cap it off.
Nice atmosphere, good drinks, good food.My issue, is that I waited about 40 minutes for fries (Irish Poutine). Very upset with the service as I was wanting something quick (10-15 minutes at most) as I enjoyed my beer, shot and my book.

When I moved to Portland going on 12 years ago now, Paddy's was one of my first pubs, and remains a favorite. Aside from their impressive wall of liquor, the place just generally has the motif of a gentleman's club in high society while being perfectly welcoming to people off the street. Everything is polished dark wood and elegant decor, high ceiling which reduces noise levels and giant, ultra-comfortable booths which for a big man like me is incredibly important. The food here is made with a lot of care, with authentic Irish cuisine like Sheppard's Pie, there isn't an item I wouldn't recommend. Whenever I have to meet with a new client, I bring them here. Long live Paddy's!!!
Extremely affordable with outstanding food and customer service. The bartenders were spot on with requests and everything was reasonably priced. You will be so pleased with your experience here - I promise. The burger specifically is one of the best I’ve ever had with sincere care in the garnish and delivery. This cook deserves a raise! If Portland wasn’t such an absolute dumpster fire of a city, I would make this a regular spot for my friends and I. Parking downtown is just too much of a risk, especially on this side of Portland.
Love this place, the food was great and ethnic for St paddy’s day. A Portland tradition
Found Paddy’s after our original dinner plan failed. Really glad we did! The atmosphere was great and our food was excellent. We really enjoyed our meal and we will definitely be coming back. Easy access from Max and plenty of street parking on a rainy Tuesday.
The neighborhood has really lost it's luster but inside the bar is very nice. Don't turn away because of the homeless in the gutter sellen crack to one another. One of the bigger liquor selections in Portland, I've been almost everywhere in the city and I can only think of two others that are comparable.
Very nice. The menu is simple yet full. Good crew in the kitchen. The bartender is very knowledgeable about the spirits on their wall. A wide selection.
