I'm a chicken Fried stakeFanatic. I post reviews of them all the time. Some great some not so great. My honest opinion on this one gets a solid 3.Great bacon ? . Hashbrowns where under cooked. Now to the gravey was good . The fried stake very tender almost like a burger patty . Was darn good. I think with better Hash Browns with some color and zip like peppers and onions would be a home run. Great service and was eating in under 15 minutes. Nice family setting with a positive experience. I'll be back !
THIS IS A PORTLAND STAPLE.Been coming here for breakfast and lunch for over 30yrs. Always great service. Food is consistently delicious and plenty. Was open 24hrs up until COVID hit. This was the place to go after the bars closed. Line would be out the door but everyone knew you order, sit and eat then give your table to the next customer..? Here's to hoping they get back to 24hrs again. ?
Outstanding breakfast experience. The Denver omelette was exceptional. The Mexican omelette was wonderful. The stack of pancakes tasted great. All served by an attentive, friendly staff. Masks worn by staff.
Sausage SO over cooked it was bone dry and flavorless. Toast BARELY had any color on it at all - was mushy with some hasty tasting fake butter on it. Hash browns undercooked but hotcakes were great. This is not the only time everything there has sucked except for the hotcakes. This includes two steaks both ordered medium rare that came well done. But they seem to be very very lazy with their to go orders. I suggest you go through your order perfectly before you leave the place or except it, because their quality of to go orders is terrible.
Awesome! Stand in line, order, pay then sit at a table place your # that they gave you on the edge of your table. As soon as your food comes up someone will bring it right away so it is nice and hot! Tasty and great part of Portland Culture.Cheese burger with a generous portion of fries $10.75 including $2.00 tip! Great price. Used to be 24 hours before the "2020-20** Great Depression"
This place is awesome! It nails the classic mid-century American diner perfectly. I had the fish 'n' chips. I lived in London years ago and used to get fish 'n' chips from street food vendors, wrapped in a cone of newspaper. No newspaper here, but every bit as authentic as the British original. Cheerio!
Got to love the feel of this place. Stand in line, place your order, and hope to find a place to sit. Locals pack it. And for good reason. Giant omelets, and pancakes to match. Wonderful breakfast. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault.
It's been close to 15 years since I've been in and I really enjoyed the revisit after so long ago. Love the food.
.... we're starving and looking for a place around Powell and nothing besides OHH was open. You gotta be there before 10pm, it's the last call. Chef was turning people in the line away after 10pm...aww, sorry about that folks, we're glad to be next in line... anyway, good food, great Hotcakes!! Satisfaction guarantee!!
Had the ribeye breakfast. This place gas been around forever it seems. It's sad that its no longer 24 hours. I used to come in around 0200.
