It's a very small place with limited seating. I kept my order basic: brown rice. I do hope to return for a more interesting meal. It's ideal for a party of two or three. But you have to get there at the right time to get one of the two booths. I think the place could feel uncomfortably crowded with 12 people in attendance. Pick a slow time, on a slow day. It could be lovely romantic lunch or a great memory to share with out of town friends who wants to get a taste of Portland.
Standard thai meals with lots of tasty low-fat but soft chicken. This restaurant was included in Eater's 38 Essential Restaurants in Portland Oct 2021 list.
The portion was small but their Khao Man Gai was amazing! The place was small too.
Visiting for a week I was saddened that this establishment was closed until Tuesday But luckily this newer location was open just in time before my flight out. Such an amazing, simplistic dish. Everything I wanted and more. If you're in Portland you have to try the chicken and rice!
Simple and good Thai food. I think they used a whole wheat ? rice ? but I would prefer the regular Jazmine rice ?.I loved that they open at 9:00 a.m.
Fantastic customer service, delicious food, woman-owned biz! Paula is awesome!
Great food and the friendliest staff and owner. Recommend it to everyone and is often our go to meal. Great option for gluten free, or dairy free individuals.
To start off, I've been a loyal customer of Nongs for almost 3 years now, I cherish the food and hope to meet Nong one day...However! I am disappointed in the downtown locationa quality and order correctness. I understand that it just reopened, however after a few weeks of being up and running, I also noticed many of the same workers present, i guess i expected more. I do want to add that while I didnt get his name, but the guy who took my order was nice, even gave me a box to hold my food in when requested. This time around, I ordered a Piset (large) chicken and rice, and a super soup. The chicken wasn't trimmed properly and I had huge chunks of chicken skin, not a huge deal, wiggly skin just makes me squemish. I additionally recieved a normal size, which upset me as the piset size is 16 dollars. The oil from the chili paste got on EVERYTHING because it was placed at the top, tipping, which is why I asked for a box in the first place because the bag had a huge oil stain. Soup was good! Flavor felt a little off from the normal taste, was more bone brothy than normal, lacked some deep flavor. In the end, I'll make the trip down to Ankeny, they seem to have it down more.
thai food and service at this spot is very good. it was so appetizing. i'll return with my coworkers. it has a cool atmosphere. menu is like a cafe in boston i liked.
Amazing food great service!! Nong is one of the best cooks of this century. We're so glad they are open for take out or delivery! Wouldn't be able to survive without it. Thank you for the best food ever
