Best sushi in Portland hands down. Been here 4 - 5 times in the past few years. Special spot for us!
Food was great, especially the A5 wagyu, love it, but I wish they could improve their services. I reserved a table at 5:00 and we arrived 5 mins early. They asked us to wait outside, it was 95 degrees hot…….
Dinner was amazing! it's not about quantity but truly the quality.
omakase tasting $85, only 10 seats in the restaurant, need reservations
Updating my review to a 1 star: diarrheaQuality of cut is also VERY good, the chef knows what she’s doing. However, the fish was cut about 15-20 minutes before you eat it… warm fish no matter the quality of freshness and cutting talent is just not fun to eat. Also, all the fish was seasoned the same exact way. No versatility whatsoever to the 11 different nigiris served. The ginger was more exciting than the sushi.Sashimis are not included in the omakase at all which to me is a bit odd as all the omakase I’ve ever experienced the sashimi is the main event and the nigiri a side note. The sever was lovely and the chefs as well but overall they could make some improvements on the aforementioned.
Dinner at Nimblefish was truly amazing. The chef Design's an Omakase menu that is 11 courses from the best freshest ingredients and is then fallowed by soup and dessert. You can revisit something's you liked and explore new ones after the guided tour from the chef, do take advantage of it. Everything is made with care pride and precision. This was my first time eating sushi of this caliber and I was blown away. Yes it's a bit spendy but trust me when I say "totally worth it". It's bout the experience and the food not just one or the other. I was privileged to sample Firefly Squid that is available fresh only 6 weeks of the year and is drought in from sea of Japan. That is just one of the 11 dishes. I would also like to send a shout-out to Ren from Albatross Tattoo for setting this experience up for me, thak you Sir. Remember as always, be mindful, happy and the best you. You only go around one, so do it well.
Hands down best sushi I’ve ever had in my life and easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The entire experience from start to finish was unlike anything else. The omakase style, the service, the intimate atmosphere. Every detail carefully tailored to provide a a dining experience you will remember. Each nigiri presented was like tasting heaven. I’ve traveled to Japan and to be honest I feel like the nigiri here exceeded what I’ve had in Japan. The preparation is so delicate, intentionally prepared to bring out the best flavor in each bite. They are definitely doing something right here and elevating the dining experience in Portland. Come here, you will not regret it.
By far the best nigiri we have ever had! Excellent food and service in an intimate setting. We would absolutely recommend visiting Nimblefish for omakase and will return next time we are in Portland. Make a reservation in advance for weekend dining!
The atmosphere is just phenomenal, you get to enjoy watching your chef make the omakase sushi in front you as the soft light fills the room with warm colors from all the wood its designed using. All of the food is incredibly delicious and you just enjoy the calming atmosphere and relax.
Just wow. Ive done omakase at more than a few places and this one is probably the best ive had. Typically I'll have maybe 3 pieces that blow my mind, but this time it was over half of the omakase set. I seriously cannot choose a favorite single piece. We'll be back as often as realistically possible because this was fantastic in every respect.
