I have been to other Nicholas locations but wanted to try this one and it did not disappoint. This is one of the nicer Nicholas locations with ample indoor and outdoor seating. We were immediately seated and they got their fresh delicious bread immediately. I have never had anything as delicious as this bread in any other lebanese restos. Pair this with thier muhamra (red bell pepper and walnut hummus) and you can thank me later. The muhamra is amazing. For the entrees we ordered the chicken thigh kebab plate and the vegetarian kebab plate. The chicken thigh kebab plate was outstanding. Perfectly marinated and juicy pieces of chicken thigh served over skewers with a side of buttery saffron rice, garlic butter sauce ans yoghurt sauce with house salad. While this dish tastes amazing by itself. But add the garlic butter and yoghurt sauce and it just elevates the flavors to another level not to mention the chicken would just melt in your mouth with great spice flavors. Loved the chicken thigh kebab plate. The vegetarian kebab plate was good too.Service was great and fast. They have limited free parking in the adjacent private parking lot. Also checking into to Yelp will give you one free appetizer per table. All in all highly recommend this Nicholas location and I will be back here every time I visit Portland.

Yooo i loved eating here!! They give you a GIANT complimentary naan with an olive oil and herb dip (zatar), wonderful texture, pillowy and crunchy. The food is a great price for the quality and the portions. The restaurant was started in the 80s by Lebanese refugees, so the authenticity and the creativity are very alive in the food.I got the lamb gyro with a salad and hummus. The meat was cooked well, nice quality, and the tzaziki and feta were fantastic. The salad had great dressing and the hummus tasted very authentic.Everything is so fresh! My stomach is sensitive to cheap and processed foods...and right now my stomach feels great.Dakota, one of the waiters, is super sweet and attentive. I asked him to surprise me with a drink, and he came back with a blend of 2 of their drinks (the cinnamon mint tea and the mint lime lemonade) AND a sample size of the mango lassi. I really appreciated his creativity and kindness.I highly recommend coming here! It would be a great place to bring friends and share a few items. Expect to bring home yummy leftovers!

I took spring break and road trip to Oregon with my hubby. Tried lunch at Nicholas restaurant Lebanese and Mediterranean Cuisine. We wanted to eat a healthy and lots of veggies options. There are lunch bowls between 11-3pm. We orderedVegetarian Mezza Bowl: Hummus, falafel, tahini, tabouli, and majadra.Nicholas's Chicken Bowl: Sliced breaded chicken breast. Served with saffron jasmine rice, tzatziki, diced tomatoes, and cabbage garbanzo salad. After ordered, a lady served with complementary Flatbread and dipping sauce. This Flatbread is so good! And both bowls are delicious!!! We couldn't finish it but made us so happy. Service is a very good and healthy food option here.Highly recommend lunch bowls.

The new and improved location is great. More spacious and brighter as well.Last night's visit was my first visit since they moved from the SE Grand Ave location.Back then, my favorite dish was Stephen's Chicken... it seems they've renamed it to "Nicholas Chicken Plate"(photo), it is still a delicious ever. It will continue on as my favorite dish there.I would've given 5 stars except, I was disappointed with the pita or, is it naan? Anyway, the starter bread was always the highlight/ draw to my visits in years' past because it was amazing, it wasn't last night. It was too thick and very quick-filling. To me, it did not taste nor feel the same.

Once we got a table the server got us a big hot pita with some oil and Zatar spice. The bread was amazingly soft and fluffy. Even after getting cold it was still tasting good. For drinks we ordered a mint lime lemonade. The drink was fresh and perfect after every bite. For entrees we got vegan kabobs and mezze platter. Both of them were good with enough portion. The only thing is that this place is a little expensive in comparison to other places in the same genre.

First time in this fabulous place, the story on how they started it, printed in the menu was breath-taking, another proof that a country made of immigrants is something to celebrate, regardless of your political party. The food was delicious, the pita bread was literally out of the oven, you can even see the baking process from one of the external windows! The hummus was phenomenal, and the Zhatar fries were really good; their lentil soup was creamy and perfectly warm, their lamb platter was really well cooked. Their NE Broadway location is cozy and just the right size, the decor was spot on, it was pretty packed with customers and the service provided by Anna and Evelyn was EXCELLENT!!!! We are definetly coming back!

This is one if not my favorite middle eastern restaurant in town! The place is amazing, food is soooo tasty and authentic, you seat and they bring this warm bread with zatar! It’s so home food and comforting! Falafel, schwarma, knafe, kebab, everything is amazing!

Just had lunch here. I usually don’t leave reviews for many places, just because I don’t have the time or energy. But this place was worth a review!Outstanding food. I had the chicken shawarma lunch bowl and my husband had the salmon kebob platter. The food was so fresh and you could really taste the seasoning. Portions were filling enough. The place itself is kept clean and sanitized. If they keep up the quality of the food, we will certainly come back time after time.Definitely recommend!

Went in for lunch on a Saturday around 11:30. There was plenty of seating available.Decor is nice. Food was delicious. We got babganoush, lamb gyro bowl which was a lunch special and a mango lassi

Pretty good food they give u a pita bread as a free appetizer and it’s HUGE it will last ur whole meal and more. Pretty good food kabobs we’re good but had too much spice to where it felt like ur eating powdery chicken, the gyro was really basic. Nothing super special about the food here except the variety. Good food tho and nice restaurant atmosphere.
