Stopped in here late tonight and got the Trinity gumbo dish. Super tasty, authentic and with generous shrimp in it too. A little spendy for a food cart but the portion was large and it's not run-of-the-mill fare food. Flavors were on point.

extremely friendly service and delicious food. going back next week

Huge, delicious portions. I got the red beans and rice with sausage and shrimp. The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly! I got the banana pudding for dessert. It had great flavor, but needed more wafers for such a big portion.

Good gumbo and friendly employees

I previously reviewed this place and gave it 2 stars, I am now giving it 1. This was horrible, the "gumbo" had no juice. The rice looked digusting. There was no shrimp in the gumbo. The shrimp and grits looked like it had been sitting for hours and bowl was only half full. I spent 50 dollars for food I can't eat. I will not be returning to establishment.Previous post:Some of the worst red beans I have had in a long time. They were bland and tasted of artificial flavoring. I have only heard good things, so maybe I caught them on a bad day for beans. Gumbo base was ok but a little off. I have been eating Gumbo my whole life, and don't mind adaptations and interpretations. It's gumbo! However, I think this gumbo is a glorified vegetable soup with meat options. Good veggie soup tho. Way too much sauce on the shrimp and grits, I couldn't even taste the grits. Food deficnitely smelled better than it tasted

Brandon the owner allows his management partner Griffin to touch and make all the commissary food for all 3 establishments. Griffin has not bathed or worn clean clothes for over a YEAR. you are prone to getting a food born illness if you consume anything from either mumbo gumbo carts or eat at their new resturant grits n gravy. this is a public safety issue not to mention we are in the middle of a pandemic I might add and the person that makes large batches of food for this company is unsanitary and refuses to bathe or have clean clothes which I also might add is one of the first rules in the Oregon food handlers rule book. shame on you Brandon for allowing this and condoning this behavior. I know you can smell him. everyone can. it is a simple solution to fix and you refuse to tell your employee to show up to work with the basic hygiene practices then you distribute food to the unknowing public.

It would have been great to know that the shrimp and grits comes with tomatoes and onions. The menu only mentions green onions…which I asked for none.Otherwise food smelled good, I just couldn’t eat it.

Got a bowl of gumbo (chicken/shrimp/crab) and it was fire! Banana pudding hit the spot too! Definitely coming back

One of a small chain of Gumbo food carts. I had gumbo with chicken and scallops. It was thick, flavorful, warming, and had everything a gumbo should from okra to dark roux. I will definitely becoming back

This place has some amazing food! If you are from the south or just love southern comfort foods this is the place for you. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my friend ordered the Nipsey Hussle. I had only had grits a few times before but this time was extremely tasty. I'm excited to try their gumbo next time. They have two food cart locations; one in Milwaukee and one in North Portland. These locations are open till 2am which is perfect for any late night meals. There will soon to be a third location, opening in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. This is my most highly recommended restaurant in Portland and I didn't even know about it until a few weeks ago.
