Very cool whiskey bar in the Portland area! Amazing collection of whiskeys! The cocktails are prepared and served while you're at your table, they are delicious!!! The food (dinner portions) is equally delicious and pairs well with the drinks! The bar seats are reserved for members only, which I think is cool! Make reservations prior to your visit! (As of this post they still require proof of vaccination). The folks that work here are very friendly and helpful! If you're not sure what to order, they can point you on the right direction! If you're a whiskey aficionado, this place is a must! It's definitely worth a look for all! If you find yourself in the area, check it out!!!
Amazing cocktail bar in Portland. Stopped by for cocktails only and this place did not disppoint. Be prepared to wait for long single The Green Room is a first come first serve cocktail bar with few seats. Large groups - good luck. We were just 3 of us and got a table after almost 30mins of wait.We wasted no time and ordered the Blue Ribbon and Victory Lap. Both the drinks were outstanding and we enjoyed it. We really wanted to stay for long and order a few more rounds but had to head back to seattle. But we also tried their dark chocolate whiskey cake and that was mind blowing. Mild whiskey flavor perfectly balanced with semi sweet chocolate and with caramelized hazelnut crumbs.Staff is great. Cocktails are outstanding. Boozy cake was delicious. Drinks reasonably priced at The Green Room and worth every penny. All in all loved this place and cant wait to visit soon. Cheers.
Wow! Found this hidden gem during my stay at The Moxy downtown Portland. I can tell this place gets packed on the weekends, but I got in quickly because it was a Tuesday. This place has all the vibes. I love the dim lighting and romantic atmosphere. If you are a whiskey novice, this is a great place to come and get educated. My server recommended Glenrothes and I thoroughly enjoyed it!I wasn't too hungry, but the bacon fat popcorn definitely hit the spot with my whiskey tasting. The serving was huge too. This place is a must go in Portland if you like whiskey.
We came here for late night drinks and some food after watching a comedy show. Really cool vibe and ambience inside. There is an upstairs lounge but due to short staffing, it was only open to reservations and no walk ins. So make sure you make a reso when coming! We were able to grab a table on the main floor in what is called the green room. The cocktails were delicious and I had the $10 cocktail of the day, which happened to be a really nice smokey mezcal based one mixed with fruit. My boyfriend had the old fashioned which was made with high quality bourbon. For food I has the deviled eggs which came with crispy pork belly on top. A good sized snack for one person. My boyfriend had the Kentucky hot brown, which is very very filling! Our server for the night was Zach who was super sweet. We loved talking to him and he even let me taste the peach cambrier that they use in the cocktail drinks!
Their cocktails and their food is amazing. They have a good mezcal assortment too!
As you go up the stairs and through the door you are immersed in wood and brick lined walls and a wall of whiskey that spans from chest to ceiling and just seems to go on forever. Upon sitting at the bar the VERY knowledgeable staff go over their many books of food cocktails and.... Then you see it, the inch thick book that must give them their namesake, the whiskey list. This place is a complete paradise for whiskey lovers, fine cocktail drinkers and everyone in-between. Get suggestions when you can and if you're looking for that extra special bottle you'll most likely find it here. Wonderful place, I will definitely have to visit again.
Put your drinking pants on, and bring a credit card, you’re gonna want to try everything.Ask the bartender for recommendations, you won’t be disappointed, they are extremely knowledgeable.I’m from Kentucky, and I’ve been drinking bourbon for a while, they had plenty of bottles I’d never seen in person, and even more that I’d never heard of.Go here, you won’t regret it.I’d also recommend making reservations if you can, and bring your vaccine card!!
If Hogwarts had a bar, this is what it would be like. The upstairs member’s area of the MWL is magical, especially for whiskey lovers. The Green Room downstairs is also lovely, accessible to the public, and still has a nice whiskey selection. Both areas serve the excellent menu. Whether there for food, drinks, or both, don’t leave without trying the Dark Chocolate Whiskey Cake from the dessert menu.
don't be shy to ask for a recommendation or to come if you're a beginner
Sooooo much whiskey. Knowledgeable staff. If you can get upstairs, go upstairs. But there's usually a crazy long waiting list. Really cool ambience upstairs, and the drinks are extremely delicious and crafty.
