A cozy place that is wonderful for celebrations. We started with a refreshing Aperol based cocktail. We also ordered a bottle of their featured wines. Their wine list had a great selection of Italian wines. We shared all of the dishes which was fun as I enjoy trying lots of different menu items. The prosciutto and burrata was delicious as well as gorgeous! The scallops were uniquely prepared with a Parmesan sauce and saffron flavored drops of another sauce. My favorite dish was the torteli with mushrooms! The sauce was exquisite. The chocolate desert was also delightful and went well with the birthday Amarone gelato! Our sever was wonderful and she was very attentive. I definitely am looking forward to trying their tasting menu.

We chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and the ability of online reservations. The location was in a fun pet of Portland and parking was easy, both street and lots available nearby. It’s a small restaurant with few tables. Overall the food was good and the drinks selection decent. The waiter service was good. We had ordered a birthday cake for one of our party. We even stopped and talked to the manager during the meal. The cake never arrived (we weren’t charged for it) but it was disappointing and a big miss. The appetizers were good, and 3 of the 4 entrees were good. We expected more from a restaurant so highly rated by TA reviewers.

Visiting Portland several years after moving away, we looked forward to Mucca. The tasting menu is literally forced on you. Do not reserve on Open Table because there is no option to the tasting meu; call if you want a la carfte, Aside from the pasta course, the tasting menu hardly seems Italian. The course after pasta was beef and lentil salad and the beef (sirloin) was really chewy although cooked medium rare. We wanted wine by the glass and they were out of one of only 3 whites available by the glass. One of our party does not eat seafood. The second course was scallops and she asked for something else. Nothing available; they brought her scallops. A really disappointing experience from a place we loved in the past.

My daughter and I dined at Mucca last night and tried the $95 six course Chef’s Tasting.. They don’t have a printed menu; we were told that they would email it to us that evening, but we haven’t received it yet. We especially liked the octopus and the scallops. The wine pairing was reasonably priced at $65 and the quantity was generous. Overall, the food and service were good.

We went in to celebrate my 40th birthday. We sat at the chef’s table and got to watch them cook during our stay which was really fun. We went with the tasting menu and the wine pairings. Everything was delicious! First course was a potato and leek curry soup paired with Prosecco, second course was a steak tartare paired with a Rosé, third was Seared Sea Scallops paired with a Kerner, fourth was the Rabbit Ragù paired with a Pinot Nero, fifth was a Sous Vide Duck breast paired with a Sangiovese, and finally a delicious dessert with a dessert wine. Food was amazing and the wines were excellently paired really elevating the experience. After our meal, Nick, one of the chefs chatted with us about our dinner and it was very nice to have that extra level of customer service. The one and only negative was the duck was slightly over-cooked but the flavor was still there!! Wonderful food and stellar service all around, great time!!

The place has really nice ambience, as well a very attentive service. Their appetisers were incredible: the octopus and steak tartar were nicely prepared and paired, one of the best beef tartars I have ever had with a great balance with the crunchiness elements added. Scallops were well seasoned and crispy, pasta was well al dente but a bit on the heavy side. Steak didn’t do it for me, I felt like it was dry and the berry sauces were in all directions. Would recommend it for a romantic dinner, not quite there for tasting type of place…

The food and the service are amazing. All the ingredients are so fresh and you can taste the real flavour of real food, it makes you want to go back right away, which is what we did. We made a reservation for the next day only half way through our dinner, can’t get enough.

Such a hidden gem! This restaurant has two floors and is super romantic. The night we were dining their service was excellent and every single dishes we had were deliciously outstanding!Highly recommended this place and be sure to make a reservation because seating is very limited. This place is on my going backlist!

Had fine meal here - a la cart at the chefs table Ordered seared scallops starter- easily the best scallops we have ever had- Compares favorably with finest European restaurants Then a pasta with braised ground boar- tasty Then perfectly cooked halibut with rotini in prsto sauce- excellent Highly recommend this restaurant

Two people, tasting menu plus wine pairings - not terrible but certainly the worst 400 dollar meal I’ve had. I’m well traveled and we focus a big part of our travels on food. We are foodies and look for the best. This restaurant was just fair. Food wasn’t superlative but wasn’t terrible either. Neither of us finished every item on the tasting menu - a first for us. But still the food was okay. What was truly BAD were the wine pairings. They were all Italian wines and all truly or nearly awful. My wife and I both agreed the tawny Porto with desert was the best but that’s not saying much. Now we did watch other tables and it looked like the main entrees were better than the tasting menu. On positive note, service was great, attentive and when we weren’t happy with wine we were provided alternatives (tho they weren’t great either). Hate to write such a negative review but everything but the service was sub par. We wouldn’t go back. I’d recommend they get a sommelier to get better pairings.
