This was a happy accident for our Portland trip. We were on our way to the rose garden and passed by this store and stocked here for hours lol.It’s like a board game library with really nice lighting and restaurant. You could buy a game here and start playing without worrying food.We bought a lot of board games at the end and wish we could really sit and play the next time we are here.
This place is incredible!!! The retail space has so many things that it was hard to keep my wallet in check. The staff is incredibly friendly and easy to get along with. And the food is DELICIOUS!!! They have a lot of gluten free options here and I left fully satisfied. Of course, the game selection was great and I loved all the options we could play. I will absolutely be coming back here.
Whether or not you are into boardgames, I definitely feel like it is worth experiencing at least once in your life. Not only is the service and staff absolutely fantastic, the foods are definitely worth the price and your time. I cannot express how worth it this place is, and how much fun I have had every time I went to this place. Not once was the food disappointing, nor were there any downsides to this place. They also have many boardgames readily available for us, and the dining room is very spacious and decorated very neatly. This place is definitely one of my favorite entertainment/food places in Portland!
The staff was warm and friendly. There were many games and food items to choose from. The drinks were fantastically balanced. It was one of the best places I’ve been. Inside gave grand central vibes and I absolutely loved it.
Big fan of the space, even if we just stopped in to browse. The staff are super friendly and open to just going on and on about your favorite games with you.There's a listing of events for your favorite card and board games online and in the store. Personally, I'm a huge Magic: the Gathering player, so their easy to use computer system for singles and a card kingdom selling window are huge. Selection of old, no longer printed packs is also massive.We didn't get a chance to stay for food and drinks (which looked great!) But we did see a group of D&D players eating and drinking while playing, and a few more magic players snacking while dueling. Would 100% come back to eat, drink, and be merry with some games!
Great food and a wide selection of games. Much more upscale than I would expect.I believe I was in the store with the man who wrote the previous review, Jason. For the record, he was wearing a pornographic shirt and one of the employees politely asked him not to wear it next time. As a mother, I appreciated it. Only reason I think it might be him was because the employees used his first name during the transaction. This occurred a few days ago though, so it may be a different person.
This place is my dream spot. It's a good thing I don't live in Portland or I would be broke. Firstly it's a board game store, but it doesn't end there, they have a full restaurant and bar with excellent food and cocktails. You can play test games at your table while you eat and drink. It's simply amazing. Atmosphere is beautiful and high end. Food and drink is a little pricey, but honestly the quality was so superb I didn't mind at all. Definitely my new go to spot when I visit the city
Wow! We stopped in after a show at The Armory and....wow! My Sweetheart had the brownie sundae, which was really good. (Our contract specifies generous sharing of bites.) I chose the pomegranate-rose something-or-other cake, which may be the best dessert I've ever had - and I'm an old person with a sweet tooth! Tender, thin, perfect sponge rolled up with Chantilly cream inside, lemony goodness on top, OMG! BEAUTIFUL! Our server was very nice & took great care of us. The atmosphere is an interesting mix, with high ceilings & dark wood, really pretty. Most of the tables are long, boardinghouse style, and most patrons come to play games as well as enjoy a meal - and it was moderately busy at 11pm on a Wednesday. There's a gaming shop attached, and you can check out games to play as well. We can't wait to go back & sample the rest of the menu, & maybe play a game, too!
