This is my first time trying Sri Lankan food. And, it didn’t disappoint! Delicious flavors!I’d the string hoppers and the Cylon black tea. I loved both! I got my string hoppers with the coconut pol - ? It also came with a potato stew and dal. Absolutely yummy!!Oh, and this place is vegan! My friend’s “chicken” kottu - had imitation meat. I don’t really know what chicken tastes like - so, when I tried the dish the “meat” tasted like tofu to me. Technically, it seems to be a soy meat. Anyway, it was yummy too! However, if you are used to meat, expect to have your expectations challenged!Overall, delicious food and such warm, friendly staff! There is street parking around the restaurant, but sometimes parking spot may be hard to come by!If you’re in Portland - definitely stop by here!

First time trying out vegan SriLankan food. Food was good quality, tasted fresh. Short eats sampler was a big hit. Priced a tad bit on the higher side for the quantity (and having to bus the table) but hard to say if it's the new norm with inflation. (Update: as owner mentioned below, pricing includes gratuity so that's 1 less thing to worry about). Kitchen is open to view and looks organized, clean. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the outdoor seating area. The only 2 concerns were: have to walk all the way through the kitchen for restroom access, and water, napkins, cutlery could be more easily accessible.

An incredible experience. The food was delicious and the service even better. Our order was taken by the delightful and angelic cashier/server extraordinaire (chef as well maybe?) Ro. We got the rice and curry special (which is enough for two people), 2 Godamba rotis, and the black Ceylon tea with ALL the add ons. They did not have the Seeni Sambol available, and Ro graciously subbed it for the Polos cutlets which are delicious.Unbelievable experience. I found myself surprised at how lowkey and comfortable the atmosphere was given how incredible the food was! The dishes were flavorful, spicy, and unexpected. A burst of new flavors with every chew!Everything came out quite quickly - once again service is IMPECCABLE. Can’t wait to come back here with my love.See the photos for the before and after :)

This place has such potential! I hope next time I go and order differently it'll up my rating. The Kottu (bread, chikkin, pineapple)was huge and tasted like boiled cabbage. We ordered it "hot" which ended up being just a load of old tasting spices put in. The added pineapple, a 3 dollar upcharge, was the only spots of flavor. The texture was just mushy steamed mass which could have been microwaved in a bowl upside down. For 23 bucks... Skip it.The mushroom special was better. Fresh flavors. However the mushrooms were fried past recognition, and compared to the Kottu this dish was very small. Confusing. The staff was kind and the meal was served pretty quickly. The space was clean and cozy for an outdoor seating set up.Tips are included in the prices, but it was still high for what we got.

First time eating Sri Lankan, and I think it is my favorite. Helps that I had a Sri Lankan friend with me to order and everything was delicious. Flavors that made my mouth happy. Spicy but not too much. We had two different types of roti, string hoppers, dishes with eggplant, chicken, jackfruit, and pop sambol. Flavors were out of this world. The cardamom flan for dessert was yummy and the Sri Lankan Iced Coffee was so good. Can’t wait to return

My partner and I are vegan, and were stoked to stop by here while visiting Portland for the day. We went on a Saturday evening, ordering and splitting the rice and curry special with a side of roti—so fun to try several flavorful dishes at an incredibly reasonable price. The curries, the mustard greens, the spiced caramelized onion... Service was friendly and warm. Was neat to witness the kitchen firsthand on the walk to the restroom. Thank you!

I wanted to like this place based on reviews but my friend and I were left confused because our food tasted almost flavorless... I don’t mean to be unnecessarily critical because the staff was nice, but I ordered the meatball Kottu for $21and it tasted overwhelmingly like unseasoned boiled cabbage and onion with a rare bite of other ingredients, and unfortunately totally dry. My friend got the potato curry for $6 and it also confused us bc it was maybe one boiled potato in what tasted like water. We asked for hot sauces and that was the only flavor provided. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but unfortunately it was just bland.

Omg. We just made the best PDX dinner decision. Can’t wait to come back and try everything on their menu. Solid portions, strongest vegan game, lovely staff and environment. Thank you!

I've never left a Google review before in all honesty but I just have to for Mirisata. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Portland and I go literally whenever possible. To start, the food is absolutely incredible! The portions are large and the flavor is immaculate. I especially love the variety in their weekend rice and curry plates! I have never been disappointed in anything I've tried here. Beyond the food, the staff is absolutely wonderful. They've been nothing but kind and patient. I definitely admire them for dealing with rude customers so graciously. Much love to the mirisata team & their wonderful creations. This place will forever have my support. I'd leave 6 stars if I could.

Amazing food! The spices are just right, done to your preferences. We loved the kottu, the tamarind curry side as well as lemon soda.
