The only place for Chicago style sandwich ecstasy. I don't want to live in a world without hot Italian beef.
The beef sandwich tastes exactly like the place I worked at in Chicago. The hot giardenera is spot on

I try to make it a point to stop at Micheal’s whenever I come down from Tacoma. It’s the best Italian beef sandwich close to me. Just wish you could figure out how to stop the paper from sticking to the bread.
This place has good amount of seating for as small as it is and the parking is rough ...but it is well I say again well worth trying to find parking ... The sandwiches have amazing great taste and are very filling.... I have been here several times and will come back again the Italian beef dip is great and the hot peppers and onions kick it up a notch... My wife had the meatball it had plenty of beef and good sauteed onions ... We got french fry and they are crisp and hot ... I would recommend this place anyway they are open...
Have eaten here for nearly 20 yrs an they make the best Italian beef sandwich you will EVER eat!! The service is outstanding all the time the food is even better!!! Truly a place you want to try if you have never been there. If you try it once guaranteed you will go back!!!
The food here is just "OK" at best -- mostly gut bombs type of food but there are some decent options that don't leave you hurting afterwards. The the place is generally disorganized and appears to be dirty. At first that was part of the charm but now, not so much. The woman who runs (owns?) it now can be a bit rude and she refuses to follow the indoor mask mandate. I've seen her wear a "mask" that was sheer (someone posted a photo of that mask), and I've seen her literally without a mask in the height of Omicron. I'm personally done with this place.
The best Italian beef in the PNW!
I busted my lip on the sidewalk in front of this place and a customer helped me up and reassured me that “it could happen to anyone.” I have never known such pure kindness. I told him I loved him and I would leave my family to stay by his side forever but he said no thanks. My wife (who was with me and had also just busted her lip on the sidewalk next to me) was also sad to see me get rejected like that. Pretty embarrassing stuff. I hate that dude.
Been a customer since the early 1980s... Best of Portlands Best... Sausage the way it should be.
