What a wonderful lunch! The food was made perfectly! And the portions where very generous! The crispy tofu was by far the best I have ever had! This place has my business forever! Thank you for the full stomach!
Delicious and authentic Japanese food. We didn't get any sushi, but the portions of the regular menu items were unexpectedly large. We all ate way too much and enjoyed every bit of it.
Love eating here. It’s a small place but the food is always really well done. I’ve gone to a few other places that’s all similar food but this place has always been my go to for sushi, noodles, and more. They not only have cheaper prices than other sushi places but their quality here is definitely better as opposed to the sushi village that’s near by. I love the entrees. I’m a big fan of the Yakisoba noodles with either beef or chicken. Tempura is always delicious. Not everyone likes udon but this place has made some of the only udon I’ve liked. Been a great go to spot for years and their prices haven’t changed much and they haven’t gotten cheap with their quality control as opposed to other places that charge more for smaller portions. The portions here are always way more than enough and I always take food home for later. Always feels worth it. Love their selection of drinks too. Big fan of Sapporo which this one of the only restaurants in the area that offers it. Keep up the good work!
It’s not easy to find an Authentic, good Japanese restaurant in Portland, and Meeka is one of the Top 3 sushi restaurants in Portland. Fish are fresh, and the ratio with rice is good. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. The only drawback is the tables can be cleaner.
Waste of time & money $75.00 for 3 plates and Lil bit of sushi & deep 5 very small pieces of fried calamari ..gave us all diarrhea stomach pain. They get too close up to ur face for u to order. No social distance respect.
-DON’T MEEKA MISTAKE TRYING THIS PLACE-My wife jokingly said “I hope we don’t‘meeka mistake’ by going to a new sushi place and jinxed us! Disgusting bathroom for starters. After we were seated (directly in the sunlight instead of a more suitable location as the place was empty) we were ignored for long enough for each of us to ask if they’re for real!We then walked out unnoticed.
My wife and I had a great casual dining experience here at Meeks Sushi. It has a very cozy Japanese vibe in a humble and plain way. The food is great, just what I would expect at a small family owned restaurant. They offer a balanced variety of sushi with cooked ingredients and sushi with raw ingredients and in addition they have many other delicious entrées such as yakisoba and udon. Also small appetizers like gyoza and chickens skewers and much more! Great experience. Would go again.
When we first got there, there were only 3 tables in service. Waited 40-50 min 4 sushi rolls. They totally forgot our order. Ordered 5 rolls, never got the one because they were too busy. No one ever came to update us with the situation. Sushi rolls weren't rolled as they supposed to. Table service was so bad.
Meekas is a wonderful restaurant and always consistent with everything they make. The staff is always friendly too.To be honest their dashi, sushi , tempura is the best I have had compared to alot of other sushi restaurants here in Portland.. I was raised in Japan for 9 years and it's hard to find good places like this one! Mahalo for being so awesome! ??
Sushi was great, we had to however wait for it for well over an hour. It was 20 minutes before we even got water after being sat down. Expect a long wait.
