I’ve been going to this place off an on for years. Some things have changed over the years, but my favourite remains the asparagus (or green bean) and egg sandwich. I miss the old bread (that was a little wider and flatter than the current iteration) - and I feel overall the quality of the bread/wrap component of all sandwiches/burritos here doesn’t match the quality of the fillings. Nonetheless, I recommend this place wholeheartedly!I wouldn’t come here for the in-dining atmosphere, but I would absolutely stop by for sandwiches to takeaway and eat in a park - or to take home, blast in a hot oven for a few minutes, and enjoy even better than you can by dining in.
Best breakfast burrito in Portland! I've been going to this place for years, and after being away for 6 months, was disappointed to find that they aren't open today (a Thursday) like usual. Will post an update if I learn anything. This places deserves your business for their quality ingredients and high standards (for example, they'll only make BLTs in the summer during *local* tomato season). Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious.
Yesterday my wife and I visited and had "ham and Brie" and the squash sandwich. The former may have been the most interesting and incredibly delicious sandwich either of us have ever tried. Perfectly balanced incredibly interesting set of flavors and textures, sweet, savory, and crunchy. Perfect bread, perfect portion size. Hazelnut butter, arugula, apples, ham, brie...This place blows my mind nearly every time I go, either with one of their standard sandwiches, or with a special like yesterday. I find it amusing that the names of their sandwiches are so boring and mundane, especially compared to most hipster sandwich joints in Portland, but their sandwiches are head and shoulders above most all of those places
At this point MCB is a portland classic. The turkey sando is the standard all other turkey sandos should be judged.I would go to war for the breakfast ham. How is the bun so soft. Dont u dare not get the egg.
This place is a must!! It’s clean with a great atmosphere, the staff was absolutely amazing and the food is DELICIOUS!! The homemade rolls are perfection? We will be back♥️
Great sandwiches and soup. Beer spot next door with lots of draft options
We had the turkey sandwich, squash sandwich, some carrot ginger soup, and a side of sourdough with butter and jam. I'd give the soup a 3 out of 5 but everything else was off the charts delicious. The ambiance was very Portland and fun. It was nice to find a truly great sandwich shop. This place will definitely be giving all my favorite Portland food spots a run for their money, from now on when I'm in town.
Breakfast burritos are good but pretty dry! They charge extra for everything. avocado, salsa, sour cream so it gets pretty spendy.I usually come back cause I live so close!
The hours and quality make this one of the best quick stops for breakfast in Portland. GREAT breakfast burrito. Lunch is just as good!
Bring back the BLB! ? This place is delicious, everything here is ?
