We often frequent McMenamins Pubs. The service was great. We got to sit in the sun after a hike in the gorge. The gyros and beer were as expected and hit the spot. BUT what happened to the tater tots? They tasted like potato chips in the shape of a tot. Not worth it! Bummer because the tots are part of the reason we stop here.
As far as McMenamins goes, it's always great food and drink regardless the location. My unique observation of the Mall 205 location is what they lack in atmosphere (it is in a strip mall setting as opposed to one of their more hallmark locations such as the Vancouver waterfront location with an up-close view of the beautiful Columbia river or the Kennedy school location with its unique, historic atmosphere), they make up for in service. I was there on a lunch break of an all-day business meeting and our waitress, although busy, was very accommodating and attentive to our specialty requests. Delicious food and no complaints!
Vegan friendly options.Been & seed gyro was quite tasty (as you can see I ravaged more than half of it already ?).Pub green salad on the side, raspberry vinaigrette. Very kind of the server to put the parmesan on the side bc I forgot to ask for it without.Much appreciated❣
Very friendly. Accommodating... We all came in for an after gathering from a funeral of a friends passing... Ordered some scooby snacks. And a flight of cider's. As well as a trio of cheese burgers..

So after a couple of years of the pandemic I was looking forward to a good happy hour with friends. Unfortunately it's not like it use to be. My Cesar salad was yellow! Just the leftover bits for me. First time ever I've ordered a salad and it wasn't green. The heart of Romain lettuce is usually the part that is thrown away. Yes I paid about about $16 or so for the scraps & over seasoned tots. I won't be back. It looked like a McMenamins,...?. After all that, I have to wonder, do I look like someone they hate? IDK. I won't be back. Maybe you'll have better luck. Ended up leaving, changed the location of our meet up, and received much better service & food elsewhere. We spent well over $100 at the other restaurant and happy to do so.
Was there last Saturday and the service was very slow. When I met up with my friend at the table it was 15 minutes later before anyone asked if we wanted anything to drink. The really odd part was I ordered my drink and so called waitress walked away with out taking my friends order and she was at the table before I was. When I did get my drink she just walked away while I was saying really fast drink order for friend and straws please? Manager came over and she should not be around people in any kind of job setting. Asked her for a straw and to order a drink for my friend, she rolled her eyes tossed a straw on the table and walked away. The rest of the the evening got worse with the manager and will spare you the longer story. Waitress was okay the rest of evening but so called manager needs to go back to school for customer service skills that she does not have. Hope upper management can help her.
Service was ok but ran a little slow. Had a dispute over the total price of bill and asked about it. The so called Manager said “You don’t have to be so rude’’.Really? Asking about the bill is being rude?In the end, we paid full bill. My friend was so upset with how she was treated, that she had tears forming in her eyes and left totally embarrassed from the whole thing. When I asked the Managers name, she wouldn’t give it to me. She needs to realize that customer service is needed and not her snarky remarks.Needless to say, All 4 of us will never go into that place again.Here’s a response from another friend about this;A manager that won’t give there name is no manager at all… boils my blood. That person should immediately at minimum be demoted, it sounds like she is not mature enough to work with people in social situations that require peace making skills above her IQ.
Tater tots and fries are the bomb!! bring your snake jaws because you will need to get your teeth around. Friendly service!! My first time, I'll be back!!
I love live ? my mcmenamins but was disappointed this trip. I ordered the large salad to go and felt like I got a handful of lettuce with the fixings, but it should have been a full to go platter.
