So disappointed. Have been here countless times but not for like 7 years. Went in Thursday for lunch with my sister from out of town. We 3 got burgers and my son the Scooby snacks kids meal. EVERYTHING WAS OVERDONE. We were asked if everything was ok but we reflexively said it was fine because we were so hungry and just getting into the food.I have never had such a horrible dry Captain Neon burger. My kids cord dogs were almost inedible, I noticed he was breaking parts off to eat because it was so burnt. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THERE. The cook that day was younger and needs to be taught how to not lose lifetime customers. Because he did lose me and probably my whole family. BETRAYED is really how I feel. And EMBARRASSED that I brought my family here. We will laugh about it for years with everyone we talk about it with.

Blue Moon has slipped. We have lived in the neighborhood for 17 years and generally enjoyed the Blue Moon Tavern. It's now clearly the weak link in the McMenamins empire.I ordered fish-n-chips w/ Cole slaw. The fish was really overly battered and super greasy; it also came without slaw. I was told "oh, yea, we can't get the slaw now." (Note to staff: Trader Joe's has slaw one block away.) They didn't offer a discount for providing less of the meal than advertised. Our table and one of the water glasses were really dirty; we used water and napkins to clean everything. It's worth mentioning there were two other tables w/ guests in the entire place, so it's not as if they were slammed. They just don't seem to care that much.If I were part of the McMenamins leadership, I would send in some training & Q/A support.

Vibe check ✅We were surprised how much we liked our marionberry whiskey sour and huckleberry ciao drink (can't remember the name). Enjoyed playing shuffleboard and a bit of pinball.

Don’t clear pending transactions within reasonable time. Two charges for same meal on 6/9/22 16.25 still pending and 21.26 (which included a tip) that did clear for their benefit on 6/12/22 all same meal. This is not first time this has happened, took one week to get 16.25 released but already had 21.25 deducted as well from my account. Passive-aggressively Called me to tell me is a banking problem, not them. This is not the first time has happened that they hold the original amount after receiving payment. It only happens at this place, not my banks issue, their processing issue.. Pay cash, not able to tip on debit receipt-your choice.

My rating is based mostly on service and ambiance.Service was pretty slow all around, and out of 4 people drinking coffee, when one person asked for more coffee they were brought another cup and the rest of us sat with empty cups.We took some friends here as their first time to a McMenamins- For ambiance I had really expected more from McMenamins- all of the other locations I’ve been too have a bright and eclectic feel to them- but the seating area for dining in this place was super dark with orange lighting, giving it a dungeon-like feel even during a rainy day/evening. I get that low light is it’s own trendy thing, but I think it was dialed up too much or not done very well here. It seems more to cover that there isn’t a lot that is visually appealing at this location. There were a few artsy light fixtures in the bar area, which doesn’t help the general seating area, and the only place where there was some light was over the pool tables. Music was really too loud for a restaurant and very bass heavy. I had found this location specifically looking for a restaurant with a fireplace on a very rain Portland evening, but the fireplace had no fire; understandable, but disappointing.Food was good to average, but in a place like Portland where you can throw a stone and hit 10 restaurants with amazing food, you need something more- and I had expected a much better atmosphere from the McMenamins brand. Plenty of other restaurants in the area with better atmosphere, food, and service for a similar price.

I generally enjoy eating at the various McMenamins with my family. This was our first visit to the Blue Moon and the atmosphere is good. I'm not sure if it was just an off day for this location or the staff was short help, but we had a number of mistakes with our order.Half the people in our party ordered Cajun tots (and our receipts indicated we were upcharge 50 cents for it) but we received regular tots. When it was mentioned to the server, she came back with a little condiment cup of seasoning that I guess we were supposed to sprinkle over the tots that really had no more oil for it to stick to.My wife and I split the T-N-T basket. It was supposed to come with Cole slaw but we didn't receive any. The menu said that it came with Hogshead-honey mustard dressing, but we didn't get that either.Considering half our order was incorrect, I'm not sure if eat at this location again.

Can't beat a cold Ruby on a nice sunny day in Portland! Sit by a window or outside to people watch on NW 21st.

Returning to Portland, Oregon after 13 years away, I’m glad to say that the Blue Moon is just as we remembered it.Great Beer. Great Food. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly and helpful service.

Went for tater tot day and to get the special passport stamp but our waiter said they didn’t have it at their location. Otherwise drinks were good as usual and keep in mind limited happy hour menu at this location.
