Here's the deal. I've been here about half a dozen times. I get staffing issues. We got their and were told 30 minute wait because the kitchen is backed up. Fine, I get that. Service was a bit slow. Fine, I get that. But the food was way over cooked. My Wife's Australian lobster was firm and chewy to rubbery. My fish and chips were dry and chewy, the batter hard not crisp. The bourbon was fine. Then we heard a squabble among the staff from the kitchen entrance. My hearing isn't the greatest but I heard "I'll be happy when you do your fuc*ing job!!!!" Everyone in the are heard that one. The ambiance was gone. The wife declined a walk on the waterfront We ubered home. Unlocked the door and she pushed by me to get to the bathroom. The lobster decided not to stick around very long. At about 4:00 AM my fish and chips got me out of bed in a hurry. Nibbling on crackers and cheese today. My wife suggested when we go out again to try the Italian place three doors down. I agreed. In three different cities I have gone to M&S. This one has been going down hill. Not worth the high prices.

I saw bad reviews but decided to check it out anyways because if it’s nice waterfront location, Waited over 40 minutes to even get water, didn’t get our order taken until 1 hour of being there. Highly disappointed

Staffing and management problems made for a long wait. We had a reservation but they said the kitchen was backed up and couldn't seat us for 30 mins. Had to check in again, finally git seated 35 minutes late then didn’t get wait staff attention for another 30-35 mins. The food was decent and the service good after all that.

Service was very slow, meat was a decent cut but didn’t have that $55 grill flavor. The place seemed like it was an off night. Seared tuna was great. Also, we needed up in the location in Tigard. Not Portland. Sorry about that.

After going to happy hour 1st in the bar, we enjoyed sitting at a table outside for dinner. We received excellent service from all employees. The food was very good.

Place has been around too long. Trying to live on their reputation from 25 years ago.

We know M&S well and always eat in one if there’s one in the city. So we went with high hopes. The reception was pleasant and we didn’t have to wait for our table. The food was very good and met our expectations, but the service was shabby. I don’t mind a server trying to remember everything and not writing it down, but then if the come back twice to check and then mix up one the dishes ordered I’m not happy. My wife got her entrée when we had nearly finished ours! Then bringing a 130$ bottle of Cab which is in the 70’s F! Surely if you sell high priced wine you should know how and at what temperature it should be served. Come on guys, you can do better!

After 35 minutes, wine arrive arrived, after one hour 20 minutes steak entrees we did not order arrived, more minutes for correct seared ahi order. But large ahi chunks were filled with gristle, tough and hard to call seared. Manager reduced entree prices unasked. Nonetheless my wife and I agree that this was our worst dining experience in the 55 years we have been together

Service was fine, food was mediocre at best. My Ahi Tuna was flavorless with no garnish at all, the "fried calamari" consisted of a bunch of other fried things (artichokes, peppers, unidentifiable fish pieces) and maybe three pieces of calamari.

We were there 45 minutes and only had bread and our drinks. Everything seemed to be unstaffed, especially the kitchen. The restaurant should limit their reservations based on staff availability.
