Never in my life have I had a better meal. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days on end. The flavors were unbelievable, just a flavor explosion, the texture, everything, wow! I'm so sad I don't live in Portland. The community is truly lucky to have this as part of their lives. What a treat. Thank you for serving me such a wonderful meal. I'll never forget!

This is the most perfect little restaurant. I’ve been going for years and decided it is my favorite restaurant in Portland. The food is consistently delicious, the servers (including occasionally the owners) are consistently kind and attentive — it’s just a confluence of all the right things in a place to have a wonderful dinner. It’s a great date night place with warm and romantic ambiance, but not too romantic if you know what I mean. It’s popular and small, so you can probably expect a little wait if you don’t have a reservation (which they only do for parties 6+), but not *too* popular. The tikka masala is definitely the star, and I’ve tried both the fairy and vegan options and they are both delicious. I typically get it with potato, since the other dish I often get is palak paneer. Spring for the naan, you will need it to mop up the extra tikka masala sauce. And all the appetizers are also amazing, I almost always get the onion potato pakora and rotate our the others. Yum. Thank you Maruti for being fabulous!

I frequently order from this restaurant, it is always amazing, all their food is good, it is always so good omg. so many vegan options!!!

Did not include utensils, napkins, or a straw in my delivery order. Very small portions for the price. I'm pretty sure the "paneer" in my tikka masala was actually extra firm tofu based on the texture and lack of taste. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the curry sauce itself was very tasty. Maybe my next time will be different, but I'll have to try it again and order something else before I take my wife her for dinner.

We had a great evening, the server was super friendly and informational. Food was AMAZING- not terribly well versed in Indian cuisine but the server was very patient explaining the options. Highly recommend!

Best, most favorite Indian cuisine in Portland. The Tikka Masala with paneer is AMAZING. How they get the springy, spongie, chewy texture of the paneer?? Miracles. The creaminess and perfectly seasoned Tikka gravy has made us crazy repeat customers. The garbanzos… the spinach, perfect naan… this is my new favorite restaurant!

So worth it! The Khichadi is warming and delicious. Many vegan options. Everyone is friendly and inviting - even if you're just picking up your order. Thank you Maruti!

To start off I’m an Indian-American from New Jersey as well as a pretty good home cook so my standards for Indian food are admittedly high. I just found the food here to be overrated and overpriced. The best part of my meal was the samosa Chole, the blend of textures and flavors complemented each other well. The drinks were pretty good too. The main entrees were a bit underwhelming. The Baingan bharta was lacking the smokiness I would expect. The paneer tikka was especially heavy and lacking in spices, it reminded me of a tomato bisque actually. The texture of the paneer was a little rubbery too. The naan was lacking in flavor—probably salt and butter, as well. Overall the flavors just felt more oriented toward western palette-not spicy and too heavy to eat very much of.I’m surprised this place is rated higher than my favorite Indian place in town—swagat and I feel it’s telling that most of the reviews for that restaurant are Indian names where most of the reviews here are not!

I couldn't wait to get home to leave Maruti a good review. We attended a private party and everything was 1st class. The waitstaff was excellent. The timing of the delicious dishes and drinks were exactly at the best time. They even had a sitter for the children up stairs doing arts and crafts while the adults celebrated downstairs. We can wait to host a party at Maruti Indian Restaurant.Thank you for a wonderful evening. We look forward to celebrating with you again very soon.

It's so good and the service is great! I got baingnan bharta, which is my favorite dish and this place does a great job with it!
