Cannot recommend this place enough! Yes, the wait was long, but the people working were so kind and attentive when it was longer than expected. They were really busy but still made you feel cared for. (You can get wine while you wait on the sidewalk!) Other than the great service, the food was amazing too. I love the format of the menu, so many small (tiny) plates to add on so you can try many different things. I went with a group of four and we did a few antipastos, a few sides and a few half pastas and that was perfect. Everything was delicious!
Luce was a unique experience. They have small plates reasonably priced that are wonderful tasting. Last night we experienced the fennel and dill salad, small bites of parmesan farro pie(yum) marinated beats, carrots, and mushrooms. They also served homemade for focacia bread. For dinner we had shrimp with linguini. Although it was very tasty, it was my not my favorite part of the meal. I'm not typically a dessert person but their pana cotta with pine syrup was amazing.
Went here super last minute because the original restaurant we had planned on going to for dinner had closed early. So glad we ended up here! Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Portland if not ever. The restaurant is small but has so much charm and a very intimate feel. We sat inside but outdoor dining is available. The servers and staff were so welcoming and helpful. Our server assisted us in choosing the best wine to compliment our meal. I ordered the fettuccine with prosciutto and a poppy seed cream sauce which was heavenly, the pasta was so fresh and flavorful. I also enjoyed how they offered half portion orders. A half order of salad and half order of pasta was the perfect amount of food for one person, and it was very appropriately priced! I would change absolutely nothing about my experience at Luce. I will definitely come back every time I’m in Portland! Please add this stunning place to your list of places to check out!!!
Absolutely phenomenal. Such good food and kind staff. 10/10 will be back. Can't say enough how good the food was, an instant favorite. Annnnd super cool to get to see sheets of pasta being made in the back!
Stunning, authentic, and creative farm-to-table Italian food with an enviable wine list and knowledgable staff. We had an outstanding meal last night, enjoying one of the best orange wines I've ever had from La Stoppa. Our server was friendly, helpful, and made excellent recommendations. Luce's small-plate-forward menu is friendly for vegetarians, and led us to a diverse and delicious smattering of creative plates. 10/10 stars to the Luce team. I plan to be back here once a month for dinner.
Amazing experience. The host and server were both extremely friendly and hospitable, and the food was perfect. I really couldn't find a fault with any of the five dishes I tried. Cute space, great ambiance. Couldn't rate it higher.
Very good pasta and salads. Everything was exquisite. I just wish the portions were a little bigger.
Holy wow. Been talking about this place for years without a visit. Finally stopped by and cannot be more grateful for the service and help with the wine list. Also, no idea how to express the quality of pasta and food here. Absolutely amazing.
Every single thing we ordered was delicious, the staff were super cool, and the outside seating was warm and comfortable even as it was raining. I’ll definitely return on days when I want to treat myself.
Amazing food! I finally have had perfect pasta :). Everything was beautifully seasoned, light, delicious and perfect. The best bite was the buttermilk panacotta with the delicate pine syrup, superb!
