Love the Happy Valley Montage cart! Always very friendly and they KNOW how to make a good Mac!✌️ plus their lil foil roses are cute ?
Drove up to Portland from Salem for a show with my sister and we decided to get some dinner before hand. Ordered my usual spold mac with chicken and she the spold with shrimp. After 30+ minutes of waiting for our food I went to the front of the cart and politely asked if our food would be coming out soon because we needed to get going. About 2 minutes later my name was called so I grabbed our boxes and we had to bolt to put it in the car so we weren’t late. As we were walking we decided to take a couple of bites to enjoy it while it was fresh… I opened my box and there was literally ONE SMALL SCOOP of pasta that didn’t even cover the entire bottom of the to-go box and “maybe” 5 tiny little pieces of chicken, and my sisters box was the usual generous portion with several shrimp. I had already left the food cart area and had a show to go to or I would have gone back, but I definitely will NOT be returning after having to wait well over a half an hour and paying $15+ for practically NOTHING. Super disappointing since montage has been our go to place for years before and after outings in Portland ✌?
I’m adding one star because I cannot post without adding any stars….buuuut, worst experience ever! After getting our we realized that the shrimp wasn’t fried or had any type of coating on it. My Po’ Boy was a disgusting combination of shrimp cocktail and a wanna be Po’ Boy. The jambalaya although advertised with sausage on it as shown by n their very own menu board came with no meat on it and tasted absolutely disgusting. When we went back to talk to them the level of aggression and disrespect was unbelievable. The cook went on to tell us that they won’t refund anything or exchange because we got what we ordered and he knows how to cook it properly, that maybe we aren’t sure of how Cajun food should taste because we’re in Portland. Which I ironically we are only here temporarily from the South about two hours from New Orleans. He also went on to say that the picture on the menu of the jambalaya wasn’t theirs it’s from another restaurant and that they don’t use sausage on theirs that it’s only veggie based ? he ended the conversation by saying if you don’t like the food quality you shouldn’t have ordered the food!!!!Needless to say we will not be returning to this food truck.
I was bummed to hear they closed when covid hit, i used to drive from tacoma to portland for this mac and so glad they are back, i always order 2 ? 1 to enjoy right away and one for the next day. Glad the taste is just as amazing as i recall and will definitely support Montage in any form they shift to! And i see people complaining about the wait time the time is not different then when you ordered in the resturant this food is made to order so i except to naturally wait 15-20 minutes, in fact my friend with me ordered a philly the same time i ordered my order and my food was done just before.
We were so excited to visit the montage food cart since we LOVED their restaurant. It brought back a lot of good memories to enjoy their Mac n cheese again. -1 star only because we truly missed the special montage atmosphere and it wasn’t the same dining at a food cart yard. But the food was still 5 stars!
Ordered the Old Mac is was fabulous! The Montage Cart is just as good as the restaurant was. They even made the little flowers out of tin foil! Definitely miss the restaurant, but will be back!
Absolutely terrible food quality. I promise you can get better Cajun food at Popeyes. I’m from the south about 2 hours from New Orleans and this is not real Cajun. The Po’Boy has shrimp that is not even fried just cocktail shrimp raw. The jambalaya shows sausage on the menu but as they said it’s not there picture, the picture is from another restaurant and theirs does not have any protein. Super rude and disrespectful staff and refused to refund the purchase. Best of luck if you chose to try it
Somehow more expensive than what I expected, but overall it was delicious.
I tried the Nachoroni, and it was 10/10. I have tried something new everytime I visit happy valley station. This is the first thing that I can't wait to get again!!! Well done!
Very expensive for what you get, I was shocked to be paying $18 tip included for a small portion of Mac and Cheese. They'll Charge you at least $5 to add any proteins to a dish including Jambalya which is crazy because isn't Jambalaya on its own supposed to have shrimp and Sausage???. Never again. There are other good food carts out there for much more reasonable prices. Don't waste you're money here
