As someone who grew up with a Filipino mother who is an excellent chef, I'm picky about the quality of Filipino cuisine. None of the restaurants I've tried in the Portland area have impressed me, except Kubo. The food is authentic and homey! They have a well-salted and peppered pancit bihon, delicious pork belly, and fried chicken bites. They offer other popular options from the country, like pancit palabok, adobo, and kare kare. Even Filipino-style sweet spaghetti is an option! Their leche flan and ube jam are also wonderful dessert options. It's easy to spend a lot of money here, because there's so much good stuff to try. The restaurant itself is very small so it's a better place for takeout in my opinion, but the service nevertheless is super friendly, willing to bring your orders to your car, and answer any questions you may have. Awesome place, my family and I are definitely coming back and trying out more from the menu!

I would say that i do like there lechon kawali it's really crunchy and yummy. The only downside is too much rice, i hope they cut down the rice a little bit. The atchara is good too, but it's on the rice i hope next time they can put it in a little container like they did with mang thomas sauce. Some people has issue with thier food being together like me. I do not like that i have problem with food touching my other food. The lumpia is ok when i ate it nice and hot, but the problem with it is too salty. It need to be dialed down with the salt a little bit. The prices is actually not bad some filipino food that I have tried is really over priced and not even good. But this one is really good, next time i will try the pancit, the spaghetti it's actually not bad too my boys like them. But they said the prefer my filipino spaghetti better lol. So if you guys want to check it out this place is good i recommend it.

I have been cooking filipino food for a short while and have enjoyed plentiful meals shared with my filipino family so I was surprised at the kind of cuisine being passed off as authentic filipino food from Kubo. The pancit was dry, very oily, and had poor quality chicken meats mixed in. The lumpiang had no filling and was essentially just a fried piece of egg wrapper. If you want some really great filipino food, I would suggest trying out Bobalicious in Hilsboro. You won't always have the option to get pancit - but they slow cook everything and the lumpiang has filling! They also make an awesome halo halo but even that is a hit or miss. If you want fast food - Kubo is the place.

Had the chicken adobo and beef sinigang. The adobo was incredibly tasty, although the chicken meat was a little dry. Sinigang on the other hand was perfect!

Ok, so I've only been here 4 times. Three times I get there and they were out of adobo. A Filipino restaurant that always seems to out of one of the only 6 entrees they have? Poor management.

Kinda bland unfortunately especially the Pancit, had to add my own seasoning. Ordered the “large” Lumpia but they are squashed into a tiny Chinese style rice to-go box. so they are not only about 1inch long but squashed flat and no longer crispy due to the packaging. ?

I love the food (lechon kawali and inihaw/grilled) as it reminds me of home! Taste good and I can tell the pork belly’s marinated well as I would want it. I only gave 4 stars coz the desserts aren’t very good, I love to eat and cook so I may sound too confident but my leche flan and ube jam are way yummier. Regardless, I’m glad to find a restaurant that has the food I like everytime I’m craving and don’t have to bother cooking it. Been here several times and it’s nice to support local restaurants in covid times. Thanks kubo!

Amazing food with authentic taste!

Delicious! First time having Filipino food. It was amazing. The spring rolls were the best I've ever eaten! They have a couple of vegan options but no gluten free option. This is a small restaurant with no indoor seating so plan to eat at the nearby outdoor (some covered and heated) tables or take out. Friendly staff and very clean. I'm so happy I tried this place and will definitely be going back!

Everything was delicious!Everyone from our party ordered something different, so we were able to taste a little of everything. I personally couldn’t decide what to order… Justin was super accommodating and created a sampler plate just for me! Definitely something they should add to the menu.Thank you for the wonderful experience of authentic food!
