Japanese Japanese Curry

Amazing, authentic curry, and EXTREMELY delicious; absolutely perfect. 1000/10 would recommend and this is coming from someone who ate Japanese curry their whole life!

The. Best. Curry. Ever. It is literally the only reason I visit Portland. I really wish they would open a location in CA so I don't have to keep flying up here.Order the Kale Doria with beef sauce. Not chicken, not vegetables. It has to be beef. Then it's baked at 5,000° so it's piping hot and each bite is cheesy heavenly goodness. Toppings are optional and completely unnecessary. They did move to a new, smaller location. Very unfortunate because it used to be beautifully decorated and now it has to share a building. But the owner is just as cheerful and attentive as ever. 20/10 service.

Loved their curry. But the chef guy was being oddly grumpy and unenthusiastic the whole time ? I don’t understand - the curry he cooked is so good and inspiring and customers loved the restaurant - he should be proud of that!?

On a little trip to Portland, came across this incredible spot and enjoyed it so much so that I had twice in 3 days. The Kale Katsu with beef sauce was very tasty and rich in flavor, and the owner and staff were very welcoming!Would highly recommend to anyone in the area or visiting Portland.

I am a big fan of japenese curry and Kalé definitely did not disappoint. The Curry was flavor was full and the cheese was used delicately to cover the rice. The Katsu fell a little bit flat for me as it was baked and not fried and the plate/curry was served extremely hot. Overall would definitely go back but mainly for the curry.

The staff was helpful explaining the menu. Our meal was delicious and hit the spot! Would definitely go again. Very clean and friendly.

Wow. I haven't had Japanese curry that didn't come out of a box in years. It's so good and fresh. Loved the beef curry. Katsu is good too for being baked. Love the red pickles. Very pleasant food. Not really a formal or big group restaurant, small store front and you order before you sit down.

As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were greeted very warmly by the staff and really made me feel at home. The staff makes sure that you are happy with your food and if everything was alright. The food here is soooo good, and honestly, the best curry I’ve ever tasted in my life. The dishes has a slight kick of spice to it, and it was perfect. The prices for these dishes are so worth it too, and not that expensive at all! The chefs not only make sure that the foods tastes great, but that the presentation is perfect as well. The place is very cute, small, and clean as well. I definitely recommend this place!

Wow! Amazing food. Definitely, a must and a must return. It is highly recommended!

Kalé? is a Japanese curry with a different taste from Indian or Thai curry and is highly recommended. I used to be able to get frozen Kalé at Uwajimaya, and when I went to buy it after a long time, they didn't have it. So I visited the restaurant for the first time since it moved to a new location. The menu has become less varied, but the taste is still very good.? It's as good as CoCoICHIBANYA so It's a wonder the restaurant isn't so popular that people wait in line for it.?
