Man I love this place. The food is great, the staff is friendly & helpful, the beer on tap is awesome, and there's a huge selection of beers from all over the US and the rest of the world. Found several German & Japanese beers that I remember from my time overseas! If you're looking for a good sandwich & beer, John's is hard to beat. Thank you guys, I'll be be back!
I'm a native Oregonian who moved to the east coast 2 years ago. I have missed the amazing gluten free beer options I had in Portland. It was nearly non-existent in RI. Much to my surprise, my return visit to Portland has me still searching for gluten free beer. I'm not sure what happened in the time I've been gone but there is no abundance anymore and it continues to be hard to find. Then I discovered John's Market! There I found shelves and refrigerators full of gluten free beer choices! Not just one brand, but several and some I've never seen. I was so happy! For as long as I'm in town this will be my gluten free beer go-to and I will definitely be stocking up before I leave town.
Excellent selection of beers from around the country in an unassuming building that has a kitchen that makes delicious sandwiches. The cheese steak sandwich and turkey sandwich with avocado are my favorites. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. So thankful to have John’s in Multnomah Village!
My first time going here and it was mind blowing. Rows of beers and such a great selection. It can be a bit overwhelming but they are very organized by region. Then you have the staff picks which are very helpful. You can even mix and match as you wish. The prices are actually really good too which makes it all the more dangerous. I’ll be cooking back to John’s regularly from now on
Loved this place! Tons of craft beer, a deli/grill/restaurant inside. Offers inside and outside seating. Aisles and aisles of beer, coolers and coolers of craft singles and 4 packs. Plus they have a parking lot, making it easy to stop by and grab some beer.
Great place with tasty sandwiches at fair prices. Huge selection of beer to go, ability to drink both draft beer and packaged beer. Very chill spot to grab a sandwich and a beer.
If you need something specific, and John’s Marketplace doesn’t have it, then you’re likely out of luck. They have the largest selection of beers, ciders, wines, and more. Definitely the best place to go prior to hosting a party. They’ll have what you need and then some.Brady
Still an amazing place to go for hard to find beers, but a lot has changed since I was last there, and it seems the dining area took over a bunch more floor space. And while the beer selection is even better than I remember, it isn't super well organized or marked, and there doesn't seem to be many of the sundries that used to make it a proper market. Also, cigarette sales have been discontinued.
First time to John's Market after hearing about it from friends. Incredible beer selection omg!! I'd need more time in there to browse and read but alot to choose from by type and state. Pretty cool u can take individual cans from 6 packs. All pretty reasonably priced. Even a bar inside, heard they got great burgers will def have to try next time with a beer ?
Great Burgers and Brandie, who was ruunning the counter, added a lot of fun to our quick stop for a burger. I suggest the "Dirty Steak Sandwich" it was fantastic! It was fun to go shop for chips and additional ciders to have with our dinner ??. Great selection of cider! Downside, it was a little chilly eating our sandwiches...
