I’ve been craving a beautiful, fancy dessert for my birthday, so my husband took me to a patisserie shop. I was debating between a few different patisserie shops, but ultimately decided on Jinju. I’ve never been before, but I’m so glad I tried it! The desserts were amazingly tasty, had the silkiest and smoothest texture, and were downright gorgeous to look at. The sweetness was perfect—not too sweet, but just enough to make it delectable. The flavors were rich, but not heavy. I tried the cheesecake, the berries and cream, and the matcha & yuzu. All had a wonderful slight tartness to them, which really complemented the rest of the dessert. The cheesecake might be my favorite cheesecake, and I love cheesecake. I’ve had many. I believe this one might have been a no-bake cheesecake with perhaps a bit of sour cream, which made it have a pleasant tang to the sweetness. The cheesecake itself was incredibly smooth and not dense at all. The bonbons were stunning, and also quite nice, though could run a little too sweet depending on which flavors you get. I’m hoping to go back someday!
When I want to bring a sweet treat or two.. or three with me to a small gathering, jinju is one of my favorite places. Their offerings are artisanal works of delicious art.
Favorite patisserie in town. Their carrot cake is phenomenal. I have no idea how they get it so incredibly fluffy. And I really enjoy the Earl Grey and Raspberry entremet.Have yet to try their chocolates because we always want to buy everything in the dessert case.Breakfast pastries are also quite good, I recommend the savory options.
My mind is blown, my socks are knocked off, my life is forever changed. But seriously, these are the best quality desserts I have ever tried. The flavors were on point and textures were heavenly. I got the original croissant, chocolate croissant, matcha yuzu, berries & cream, and coconut & passion fruit.
I’ve been coming here for quite some time. Their punch card, which I have, is kind of ridiculous—you have to spend hundreds of dollars to get anything back on it. They are often out of many items by mid-morning.Today, Mother’s Day, we arrived at 10am. Long line outside. We waited 30 min in line in cold rain. Spoke to a staff member and asked if there would be specific pastries available since the shelves looked pretty empty; we didn’t want to wait any longer if there wouldn’t be anything by the time we got inside to order. She assured me they were putting them in the oven and they’d be ready soon…So we get to the register and they are OUT of said items AND only drip coffee is being served. That was a solid NO for me. Completely regret coming here for Mother’s Day and they’ve lost me permanently as a customer. I will definitely be going elsewhere in the future!Maybe post a sign that you’re only serving drip coffee? Consider telling your very long line of customers who are waiting patiently in the cold rain that you’re out of most items so they don’t waste their time?
Made a guttural noise when I walked in because it smelled so good inside and the cases were filled with endless delights. Best blueberry scone, flaky spinach feta tart, best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had. Still need to try the passionfruit coconut beauty that I have waiting for me in the fridge at home.
Wonderful quaint and delectable spot for pastries of the tastiest caliber. Nestled slightly above a strip of dining options, stopping by here after a meal is always worth an adventure. Lots of sweet dessert options to choose from, my girlfriend loves it here.
Best pastries in Portland hands down. The croissants are perfection. The desserts are very flavorful and sweet without being cloying. Best I've had outside of Paris and Tokyo. You must go here. But not until after I've had my choice! They run out of things if you're not early.
Absolutely the best pastries in Portland. You must stop in and enjoy everything they have to offer from the breakfast croissants to the chocolate truffles or miniature desserts.
Came here on our last day of Portland, friend was interested in all the pictures of the unique pastries here. The orange and cinnamon breakfast pastry was fantastic but the star of the show is the carrot cake. Carrot cake is my favorite cake but I have to say this is the best one I have ever tried. There is a layer of candied walnuts that add a hit of flavor and texture. The matcha and yuzu was also a great try. People seemed to like the coffee and chai here but I would suggest the peppermint hot chocolate.
