Three of us enjoyed great food. Service was exemplary. I liked the cloudy Momokawa sake. The carrot/burdock bites were great. Ramen, tuna roll, and more were a relaxed delight.
Staff were very chill and accommodating. Food was excellent and fresh.
Food is amazing! Service can be hit or miss. Lots of young servers who can be shy or just a bit socially unaware, doesn’t take away from the atmosphere or food though. One female server is amazing! Love her but haven’t seen her in a while.

Great vegan food, curry ramen were exactly as described. Good selection of beers as well for those inclined.
Cool atmosphere, solid Japanese fare and great fish. Awkwardly, the staff did not greet me at the door for my pick up order so I just stood there. I finally interrupted a group of workers chatting amiably in the corner. The guy putting the order together was a bit scattered but friendly.
Such a great find!!! The food was so good! We were able to easily order everything we wanted vegan. Loved the ambience of the Izakaya. The staff was very polite and efficient. Looking forward to visiting the sister restaurants.
Wanting to try a local ramen restaurant while passing through downtown Portland, we decided on Izakaya Kichinto.The dining area was cozy and small, the staff were very friendly and attentive... but the ramen, sushi and sake we ordered were fantastic.The portions were generous and prices were on the conservative side for what I feel they could have been charging for the delicious food and good atmosphere.
Food is 5 stars, best ramen you’ll find in Portland and has all the umami deliciousness. Service has steadily declined over the past 2 years. Wait staff is disoriented and inefficient. Came in tonight for dinner and all 3 servers looked lost and in over their heads. Recommendation to the owner, hire servers that have better customer service skills. It’s a shame to have excellent food and inadequate waiters, this is a consistent shortcoming.
Well prepared, small menu with variety and several unique small portion options. Grilled, curry, sushi all served here. I have visited over 15 times. Good service.
