Love the weekend specials
This place hits my standard for a good Hainan chicken. The rice is fragrance with chicken stock. The chicken is moist. The sauces compliment the dish. I have not had a good Hainan chicken in Portland. This is a great place. ?
We’ve been here a few times now and every time it’s better than the last. My wife is addicted to the Hainan chicken and rice and it’s become one of her favorite meals in the city.The last time I was there they ran out of ingredients to make my meal (sells out because it’s so good, get there early if you can!) and so he offered to let me try his weekend special early: a strip steak with broccoli and a [very] spicy Cambodian prahok sauce. I ate it an hour ago and my mouth is still watering when I think about it. Savory, perfectly seasoned, and addictively spicy.Can’t wait to return, can’t wait to try the next special.
The best Hainanese chicken rice you can find in Portland. This is what I grew up eating in Malaysia. The rice is perfectly cooked and flavorful you can just eat it by itself. The chicken is tender and the hot sauce is on point. I prefer their hot sauce over Nong’s but that’s just me not accustomed to the Thai style hot sauce.
WOW the chicken is fried so well! And the special Thai sauce was spicy and flavorful and phenomenal! And the rice is so yummy and soaks up the chicken juice

What once was under a different name, has returned with a new name and renewed sense of awesomeness. Hawker Station is by far one of my favorite Asian street food carts in Portland. Myself and my partner have had everything on the menu at least once and nothing has been disappointing. I know that sounds farfetched but it's not. The food here is imbued with passion and authenticity and it shows in the flavors and aesthetics.I personally recommend the Shredded Chicken and the Soy Sauce Chicken. The Shredded Chicken is my new favorite due to it being packed with flavor.Andy, the chef and owner, strikes the perfect balance between handmade and professional finesse. You feel like your best friend is making you the best food, and that's a difficult thing to accomplish. Not only that, his level of charisma really sets the tone for the whole experience.I highly recommend visiting this cart next chance you get and giving any of the menu items a try. It will be worth it.
Hainan chicken was moist and rice was flavorful. The ginger sauce is the best.
