Unless you scan the pizza menu hard, you would find out that they don't serve pizza until 4pm...bit of a bummer! Should make that more visible on website // Google. They also have a sign on the curb that displays their pizza, which is odd, since they don't serve it yet.Update to Owners Reply: Please see Hugh Smiths review from 2 years ago. Your set up is confusing and it's unfortunate you can't take the feedback. It was your employee who said they didn't serve pizza until 4pm. But... went to the Thai spot next door & it was amazing!
This bakery is a dream come true. Go to 7th and Bleeker in The Village - as I have regularly for 30 years (and twice in the last six months) - and try arguably the best NY style pizza. Then stay home in Portland and just head up to Killingsworth to eat local pizza that takes it to the next level. So much better with whole grain, sourdough crust that every time is baked to perfection. Just look at the bottom of their pizzas… perfectly even, perfectly browned, never soggy, incredibly thin… somehow it’s always both crisp and chewy with the sourdough/whole grain element taking it off the charts. The baked goods are unique and universally delicious. Too much to discuss here - just go eat them. The weekly dark rye bread is the best ever - packed with big chunks of nuts plus seeds. I used to mill organic rye berries to make my own flour to make sourdough rye bread myself - but going to this bakery is easier, cheaper… and the bread tastes better. Portland rye bread packed with fun textures and no goofy fennel to disguise the rye flavor.I’m mostly vegan - my body doesn’t really approve of either cheese and wheat - but I’m a regular here because the taste and consistency is off the charts. Oh - the red wheat croissants are insane. You may be spoiled for life. This bakery has extreme comfort food for a time that for most isn’t so comfortable. Go enjoy!
I bet if you ask Hat Yai super nicely they will help you out with your doordash tablet so you don't have to keep every single delivery driver waiting for 15+ minutes.I promise you this is a problem on your shops end that does not happen anywhere else, every other establishment has orders ready on time. The problem lies with the time frame you are entering on the tablet to tell doordash when to send a driver.I will never be back here but I care enough about every one else's time to hope that you all look into the issue.
This place is unaware of how to use the doordash tablet system to schedule drivers at a proper time to pick up orders.I understand being busy, I understand quality food takes time to make, this has nothing to do with either.I have a minimum of a 15 minute wait time every single order at this place, which never happens anywhere else.I try to nicely inform the same lady I see at the front every time about this issue and she instantly takes offense and acts like it's a doordash problem.Like I said, this is sadly a problem with you guys not being able to overcome the tablets finer points as literally everyone else never has more than a 5 minute wait time.I will never be back to this location for an order for doordash or otherwise but please look into this problem as you are wasting alot of everyone's time.
As I waited for my dishes at Hat Yai, I decided to make a stop. I ordered a pepperoni slice and it was above average. I wasn't sure if I came at a bad time (lunch hour) because they only had two different slices to offer. Regardless, it was a quick/good experience and everybody was helpful.
Our favorite pizza in Portland! I love the sourdough flavor in the crust (plus I can only eat pizza with sourdough crust because non fermented flour and I don’t get along) and their marinara is delicious as well.
Pizza is usually good, but the last slices I ordered from here had an excessive amount of char on them, to the point of being burnt. Square slices are also frequently overbaked to the point of being bitter, but when they're done right, they are delicious. Location, good vibes and fair tipping system bump my review up a star; inconsistent quality brings it down a star.
Soooo good, get the Steve Lieber it was delicious
Solid pizza with tangy sauce and crust. Price point is about $30 for an 18 inch pizza. Quality-wise, not the best in Portland. The biggest issue is that they automatically charge you 20% for tip and then just leave it to you to bag your pizza orders - this is for take-out! Even if you dine in, the only so-called service they did was to bring you the pizza to your table outside and you bussed the table yourself afterward. 20% is fine for a dine-in service but criminal otherwise!
Oven baked margarita pizza. The dough was too sour for my taste. I will not spend $29 for this taste. Not my cup of tea
