I usually say "Give me heft, or give me death." Goodman Charlie's delivered my mouth a big meaty behemoth of a sandwich packed with insane flavor in every bite. If youre a size doesn't matter type of person, have no fear. The flavors were impeccable. That sun dried tomato pesto will leave you wanting more.
Stop scrolling. I mean it. You found your future meal. Just order it already. I haven't had a better (nor bigger) sandwich in the city. Charlie, a true sandwich artist, doesn't cut corners and provides awesome value. Super friendly guy that loves what he does. Amazing mix of flavors and overall taste. Sourdough bread is . Wow! Been on the search for a great sandwich spot. This place is the bomb diggity! The food is fresh, flavorful, huge sandwiches, and excellent service. This sandwich fed me for two meals! I cannot recommend this place enough and agree with other reviews that 5 stars doesn’t even begin to capture how good it is!
Best sandwich in town! They are HUGE. I often eat mine for 2 meals. My husband is a true sandwich connoisseur and ever since we tried Goodman Charlie's, he craves it and it's the only sandwich he wants! The cookies are delightful, the soups are killer. The service is friendly, and the cart is run by the kindest, most awesome people. I have never had something like this before.
Stopped into today and got the biggest and tastiest sub I've had since being in Portland this past month. Have to throw in the "I'm from NY" factor because we have gotten accustomed to having overstuffed wedges. For $13 Charlie gives you a monster of a sub that will not only fill you for the day, chances are it will put you into a food coma if you are able to finish the whole thing. I had the Gorge and it was a good combo of flavors. When I go back, the Mafia sandwich is on my radar. Definitely don't miss this place if you are in the mood for a great sandwich and in the area. Even if your not in the area it's worth the drive. Charlie is a very personable guy and is on a mission. Help support him. You won't be sorry and you may find yourself so compelled to write a review like I did. ✌️
Best fresh bundle of goodness I've had in ages. The bread was fresh, the veggies were crunchy and flavorful, cheese was thick and meat was bomb. Friendly knowledgeable service!My hubby and I split the "Stumptown Mafia" and the "Grateful Veg" for a late lunch, and we did not need dinner. Large portion and great price. I went back again the same week.
This is a great gourmet sub that was fast and easy to pick up! I’ve got a wheat/dairy allergy and am very appreciative of Nick having New Cascadia GF bread on hand. Other than that, the spreads used on the sandwiches are made without dairy. Convenient for those vegan folks out there. I’d been looking for a go-to sandwich spot and am happy to have found this.
I had an incredible tuna sandwich here today. Giant sized, an inch thick of tuna spread, tons of greens on top. A+
This place makes AMAZING sandwiches. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and cheesy. And their homemade cookies are something I can't help but buy whenever I pass by. Im glad they set up in my neighborhood ❤
Went to this food cart pod for a different cart, which ended up being closed, and Goodman Charlie's was the only one open. There was a couple waiting who couldn't say enough good things about this place, so I got a sandwich. I was not prepared for the utter deliciousness. Great taste, quality ingredients, and it was quite large; I had half for lunch and the rest for dinner (and it didn't even get that soggy in between which is a feat in itself). This place is the bomb.
