Gluten free and vegan pastries. Everything is delicious and you have to wear a mask before getting ur order.
The staff is even better than the desserts, which seems impossible. My son and I are fighting over all of our choices. Buy two of everything to avoid complex discussions about what constitutes a bite. The Swiss roll is by far the best thing that ever happened to Portland. Gluten Free Gem is flawless and filled with love and good cheer, not to mention great recommendations for other businesses and sites to check out. We were feeling a little lost on what to do on our free day and the ambassadors of Portland connected us!
Huge selection of dairy free and gluten options! Really enjoyed their earl grey loaf, very moist and tasty. Their pumpkin loaf was a bit sweeter and just as tasty.
You know how when you're gluten free and you have one or two options for baked goods? And rarely a donut available? While visiting pdx I found the gluten free gem and was soooo happy! Options galore! Even lots of dairy free and vegan goods. I got the caramel brownie, the black pepper and rosemary biscuit, and a chocolate glazed donut. I ate the donut before I took a picture but it was delicious!!! Everything is so good! Definitely try it out even if you're not gf.
Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. Even friends who are not gluten-free were impressed with the flavor and quality of the different baked goods. Highly recommend investing the time and energy necessary to find this “gem” in NE Portland.
Always really good. Great pastries and their full size cakes are delicious. My kids aren't gluten free, but they prefer the cakes here than at traditional bakeries.
I am speechless! This is THE best Tiramisu I have ever had! I have had plenty of tiramisu with gluten, this was the first GF Tiramisu I have tried and hands down the best ever! I will have dreams of this beautiful piece of heaven, I just know it. Thanks Gem!
You don't need to be gluten free to love this place! I am not, and would take their baked goods over most bakeries any day. Plus, they have the nicest staff!
The selection was very limited. Gf biscuit was pretty good but the soft pretzel was very dry. Staff wouldn't allow me to try my treats while I was waiting for my other to be prepared. The woman working was very delightful and helpful.
I visited the shop for the first time about a month ago to find treats for my son’s birthday and was blown away by the way the barista took care of my needs. We have a lot of allergies and she went through ingredients and eased all of my worries, and also suggested some of her daughter’s favorite pastries which ended up being quite popular. All around amazing experience. Will definitely be back!
