Gino's is a gem on 13th. It's exterior has a nice outdoor seating area that probably doubles the restaurant size. The main entrance and bar area are nicely lit, and the atmosphere is pleasant while sitting at the bar. We dined on a Tuesday night, we didn't have a reservation (mistake!) It was busy and we waited, but only for around 20 minutes - we sat at the bar and had a drink.Once seated in the second area, near to the kitchen, we were promptly handed menus and ordered more drinks. They took little while to arrive, but it was quite busy and they were possibly down a staff member. All the staff were extremely nice and friendly even though it was busy and they were probably feeling a little overwhelmed. The food was gorgeous. It was worth every penny (kinda pricey for pasta), but the portion size you receive is enough for 2 people, and I ate my leftovers at work the next day - making my colleagues envious!I had the Lamb Ragu pasta and it was truly delicious; boasting great flavours, and to my surprise actually contained quite a good serving of lamb!I would recommend Gino's to anyone that is looking for a nice, delicious and low key dining experience in Sellwood. We will definitely be back!
Gino's is truly one of Portland's best restaurants in my opinion! I've been several times and the food and service are always incredible. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there last night and enjoyed everything we ordered to the fullest. We had the Caesar salad, burrata, and shrimp to start. The burrata is unbelievable; I could eat it everyday. For entrees, we had the lasagna and steak filet. My steak was cooked absolutely perfectly and the roasted vegetables were better than they had any right to be. Do yourself a favor and try Gino's!

They have the best
Have dined twice in last 6weeks. Salmon ,chicken pasta with clams, Caesar salads and drinks all very good. Hope to return soon for other offerings. Reserve early tables. Booths in the bar area are wonderful.
My favorite restaurant in Portland. It’s absolutely incredible every time. I’m sure anything on the menu is delicious but we always either get Grandma Jean’s, the mussel pasta, or lasagna. We always take leftovers home!
The grandma jeans is the best pasta dish and I always have to get it. We had the meatball appetizer which paired with a Caesar would be a meal. The barberra wine was excellent.
Great food and great service!
I went on a Saturday night. Was told the wait was 50 minutes. Someone canceled right away, so we decided to sit at the bar for drinks. Our table was ready about 10 minutes later. Great food and atmosphere. A touch pricy. With tip, we spent $100 for the 2 of us. Worth it, at least to try once.
We are pretty bummed. We were recommended Gino's, and saw it was rated well so we were looking forward to dinner tonight. We made a reservation online for 7, we got there at 6:30 let them know we arrived and sat at the bar to wait. At 7:15 the waitress said it would be a while longer if we wanted a booth or we could sit somewhere else. We said we would wait. At 7:35 a couple who got there about 40 min after us were seated at the booth we had been waiting for. The waitress then sat us at one of the large less intimate tables in the room opposite the bar while admitting that she might have goofed. It took us having to ask to have the situation rectified for us to be then given a booth. Okay mistakes happen. We let it go, but then our meal....the flavor was fine, but it was basically pasta cereal with oil instead of milk. If we had eaten even half our meal we would have felt awful after. Okay, so maybe it was a bad day for the chef. But at the very end, they charged my card for the wrong tables food!! Easily fixable, but geez it was just one thing after another for us tonight. I'm sure this isn't the usual experience, but man oh man we are bummed. I included pictures to show how oily it was.
