Second time eating Gado Gado, this time with a vegan. We were pleasantly surprised by the vegan dishes! There were 4 options on the A La Carte menu that paired well, we especially loved the golden corn curry. Service was the best we received in Portland. They definitely check your vaccination cards.

All Hype with no substance ?We visited this restaurant based on friend recommendations. My first impression was cheezy decorations in sketchy neighborhood with homeless sleeping outdoor. This must be really authentic and genuine. I was totally wrong.?The food was mediocre at best drenched in sauces and sugar which is the oldest cooking trick to hide the taste of low quality food and frozen items.Considering the low level of location, ambiance and food you would think the prices will be reasonabe but for some reason they priced themselves literally in the price range of 5 stars Michelin restaurant which is outrageous.Just the day before, we went to Murata sushi which is served by real Japanese chef in a good location with beautiful ambiance and great food and they charged us only half what this knock off asking for.The only good thing about the place was their staffs. They were friendly and nice.Food quality level: food cartFood prices level: Michelin star fine diningYou do the math

Would give this 6 stars if I could????. Roti, tomato curry and clam fritters were exquisite . Food was amazing, vibes were amazing, servers were kind. Don’t be scared away by the neighborhood/area the restaurant is in. ??

What a flavor explosion in your mouth! I can safely say that I have never tasted such bold flavors anywhere in the Portland metro area. We ordered roti canai, chicken satay, mushroom and peach salad, pork lawar and the apple ciderdoughnuts and every bite packed a punch. The food was quite spicy for our taste buds but I found out from our server that it's hard to customize that. The service was also very quick. That means that the ratio of dollars spent to time spent at a restaurant was also one of the highest :D

Amazing restaurant, had the rice menu and it was totally worth the pre fix price. The service and host were so welcome and attentive everything was perfect.

Great food and services in a small, rundown shopping center. There wasn't a lot of parking space near the restaurant, so we parked down the street. Inside was very loud and eclectic with a fun vibe. We got the rice table and everything was delicious with amazing flavors.

Gado Gado is very good, but it unfortunately feels a bit overpriced to me. We enjoyed our Rice Table dinner, but it wasn’t quite a 5-star experience for $100 per person (with one no-proof drink each and tip). The patio is nice but their heaters are tricky — they can only either be on and very hot or completely off, so they had to cycle between those several times while we were there (which I appreciated the staff being willing to do).I’ve been here twice now and I’d certainly recommend it, but I’d like something just a bit more special for the price of the prix fixe meal.

Get the Rice Table (tasting menu)! I loved the variety of flavors and textures. Order an extra roti if you like bread for dipping. Taste all the sauces and use them. The onion fritters, shrimp dish, Sumatran beef, and tomato curry were favorites. Crisp greens toward the end helped cleanse the palette for a gently sweet and flavorful dessert with yet another amazing sauce. Gado Gado is my new love.

This place is so good! Went there for the first time and tried the tasting menu. Super delicious food, cute vibe. I’ll definitely be back.
