Family run business with an ecclectic style. Super fun to play I-spy with the kiddos with all of the fun decor. Excellent breakfast - my son even had a BLT for breakfast and said it was his favorite BLT EVER. Friendly service, Helen & Tom are amazing. Always so happy to be here.
Such a fun place, great food and atmosphere! During our visit to Portland, we were waiting for a table and passed the time in a shop across the street where we bought some tiny hands that you put on your fingers. We sat down, and were playing with them while looking through the menu and when our waiter walked up to us, he pulled out HIS OWN TINY HANDS!!! He had a lot of tattoos, and so he had drawn his tattoos on his tiny hands. Such a funny little bonding moment. He was great about it and very friendly as well

Perhaps the most disgusting waffle I’ve ever had. I paid almost $20 for a waffle & side of hash browns (which is $$$ in and of itself) but took one bite of this cold, stale bread with like a spoonful of whipped cream provided and they put like the fake strawberries and sauce with it and it tasted like what I imagine feet or dog food to taste like. Couldn’t even swallow it. Do yourself a favor and go to Down to Earth cafe instead, 1000% better!

Best staff, always friendly and attentive. The food never disappoints!! The classic dive diner decor is so fun!! Always our go to for breakfast/brunch/lunch.
We were a large party that arrived unexpectedly. Server was great, and they were very accommodating to our group when we asked to move the outdoor tables together. Overall our food was very tasty diner fare, but the biscuits were slightly underdone
Tiny place, the walls are covered in license plates and signs from all over. I enjoyed reading and sharing my discoveries.The service is fast. Food is typical american fare. I saw a huge cinnamon roll at another table. I will be trying one of those next. They are cash only, so go prepared. Outside seating is also available.
I have very fond memories of Fat City from my teenage years but haven't been in for a long time. I took my partner in today because he hasn't had a decent diner pancake in years and I just gave to say Fat City is just as good as it has ever been! Tom was our server and he was fantastic. We'll be visiting much more from now on!
