Anyplace that serves fries that aren't gluten free gets one star in my book. Portland is the place of special diets - get with the program and give us something besides a salad hold the bagel bits and some pickles! ?
I got the OG pizza and a couple of beers. Very tasty and I think the pizza could feed two people, as I only finished 3/4 of it and was very full. The setting was relaxed and the beer was tasty.
This is a shoutout to Ryan and his family. We love you even though we don't know you personally. But your Dad's artistry has inspired many, including our family. We will always support Ex Novo, some of the best beers in the world. Cheers from the Haynes Family. Thank you.
Always great folks working there, pouring great beer! The pizzas are delicious. I tried the $11 smoked trout dip for the first time and while it tasted good, I'd skip it. ?
While in town for a conference we were looking for a great place for a drink and dinner. The hotel staff recommend this place and it did not disappoint. Great service, food and drinks!
Incredible beer served by passionate folks with a knack for hospitality.My wife and I (and our dogter) had a great time there Sunday afternoon. It's refreshing to be served by folks that show some enthusiasm and care for what they do! The smash burger was also one of the best I've had in town! Can't wait to go back.
Their beer is on 'pint' (sorry), but the food is next level for a brewery! Our table ordered the smashburger, salad bowl, and two Detroit-style pizzas. The smashburger rivaled shakeshack, they build the salad bowl to satiate and satisfy, and the pizzas are wonderful. The Forager is a luxurious earthy delight. Ahab's revenge will repel vampires and treat you with breathing your own delicious garlic breath for the remainder of the day.
I threw a birthday party for my boyfriend in the upper loft and it was an incredible experience! Communication with Liza, the event manager was timely and very easy. The space itself (which i unfortunately didn’t take photos of) was quaint but vibey (lots of privacy). And the best part was the service!! Our waitress - kayla/ Kaylee? - was so sweet & accommodating. She took on a party of 25 with ease. I got so many compliments on the staff, the space and the beer/ food - p.s. get the Detroit style pizza! On top of all this, I found out that they donate a portion (or all?) to charity !!! 10/10 experience - i plan to host another event and come here frequently!!! Thank you ex novo :)
Four of us went here for beer and dinner. (Two had been here before and it is their favorite brewery in Portland.) I ordered a flight of four beers: German Pilsner, Hazy IPA, Scottish Ale, West Coast IPA. All four beers were perfectly balanced. I had a Fried Chicken Sandwich. It had Brussel Sprout Cole Slaw on it. It was a great sandwich! The French Fries were the best too! Really like this brewery. Definitely will be back on our next flight to PDX!
