I hadn't been to this location since 2019, a visit was long overdue. I ordered ahead online through their website. I got a "build your own" sandwich, and a side of macaroni salad. They got it ready fast, and it looked good and tasted great! I think I will be coming here rather than the other corporate big sandwich company down the street. Good quality fresh ingredients, and tasty bread.
Masterfully made sandwiches! This place reminds me of Seaport Deli, on Long Island. I didn't think Portland had any proper delis, until now.Pricing is a bit high, for me...because I'm broke... not a reflection of the kitchen staff's labors; but this is made up for in the sheer size of the sandwiches. If I hadn't been so hangry upon my first visit, I would have had leftovers for later. They don't scrimp on contents. A real deli sandwich should be the size of your head, and this didn't disappoint. My only wish...add a good pickle spear in there, maybe a bag of chips. Only because this is part and parcel of a true deli experience.Love you guys! Definitely coming back!
This was my second time giving this sub shop a try. It did not go well. I ordered ahead to save time but by the time I was finished checking out my pick up time changed. It was now a 34 minute wait for my toasted sub, which is a little much if you ask me, I would have ordered something else if that was the stated time when I began my order. Regardless, I already ordered so I headed to the shop and I walked up to the Lomard location window and let someone know I was here for my order. They said they're working on it and but it would be a little while. I was early so I sit and wait. My pickup time comes and goes, and no one calls my name. I go up to window again and ask. Someone then grabs my sandwich that's been sitting around for who knows how long. For the price there are better sandwiches in Portland and for time and subpar service there are much better food options.
I’ve been coming to this place since I went to University of Portland and it’s still fantastic. I love the custom sandwiches as well as ones already on their menu. Their sandwiches are HUGE and can feed you for two meals depending on your appetite. I’m a big fan and just love supporting this place. Their sandwiches are seriously top notch. Check them out!
The best sandwiches in town! Their hours are a bit short so order early.
As far as Delis go, East Side appears ordinary at first glance. The classic red Coke cups, the skinny non-absorbent napkins, the "yah we mopped it but not today" feel as your shoes cross the floor. But order a sandwich and your world will change. This eater highly recommends the East Side Italian. Deli meats thinly sliced and combined in a medley of vegetables and cheeses. Notable tastes include the banana peppers, black olives, and Italian sauce dousing the inside of the bun. The flavor will bounce around your mouth, sweet and savory and sour and spicy, giving you the experience of an Experience. A word of advice: enjoy it. Take a break from work, grab this puppy with two hands, and prepare for the delight of deli meat sweats. You will not be disappointed, and will likely come away not only with a full belly, but a fuller understanding of both yourself and the Universe.
Food is always great, staff seem a bit run down and rather short with customers. Bring your phone as its virtual ordering and shorter menu which is challenging.
Use the app to order and pick up at the window. Always great food.
Genuinely the best sandwiches ever. Wows me every single time- I’ve been here three times in the past two weeks!! Very much recommend the vegetarian rueben. Would eat here everyday and I tell everyone about it.
Great sandwiches and great service. They only do online ordering so make sure you order before you arrive
