Dawarka would hands down be my favorite restaurant in all of Portland if they had better hours and were less testy with customers. I spend A LOT of money at this establishment as someone who grew up on Indian food and appreciates Dosa as my favorite meal. However they only take dine- in until 8 which is really under serving for business. I get that this is the right and autonomy of the business, but the amount of times I’ve recommended this place to new customers and then been denied sit in service is ridiculous. Tonight when I brought up the grievance of this to staff I was met with “it works great for me”… well of course it does. You are open 5 hours a day while the rest of us work countless hours. I work 12.5 hour shifts and get starving for my favorite food and can’t even eat it due to stingy hours and it leaves me bringing business elsewhere when I would love to give it here since I crave the food constantly. I spend $60-80 every time I come here which is often and usually leave 20%+ each time. I have to drive 20 minutes to get there or pay astronomical fees on delivery. At this point, I don’t feel welcome or valued which makes me angry because it’s the food I want to eat most. I might as well go to an all vegan restaurant such as “The Sudra” instead. I’m tired of the dismissal here.
Dwaraka has quickly become our favorite Indian restaurant. The lamb vindaloo has a delicious tangy kick that I haven't had from most other vindaloo. We love everything in the Thali dinner, & have yet to have a dish we were disappointed with.
Best Indian Food in Portland!!!!!! We started getting take put from here during the beginning of Covid, easily have ordered here over 20 times at this point. Do not think we have ever been disappointed with anything we've ever gotten here it really does just seem to get better and better every time you taste it! Finally went 1 night to the restaurant, and we can honestly say it was one of the Top 3 dining experiences we've had our entire time in Portland!!!!! No idea who our waiter/bar tender was, but this guy was simply a drink genius!!! He made us this drink he created, called it a "Haitian Old Fashioned" using Haitian Rum, like an orchestra of flavor in every sip you experience! This place should be one of the most famous places in Portland in our opinion, we bring everyone we know here now!
My favorite Indian spot in town, food is delicious and perfectly spiced. Not too mild! You can tell they have really put a lot of effort into the interior space, nice spot to go with family or big groups.
I've tried their food 4 times now and I am done. I specifically ask for MILD. MILD. I ask is the dish MILD? YES i am assured, but it is not. The description even says 'mild spices'. Their food is always spicy. I also agree that the chicken is dry. The naan is yummy and so is the spinach pakoras.
We ordered paneer vindaloo and malai kofta. Both tasted worst. Be careful!!
This is the most consistently good Indian spot in town! Amazing palak paneer and really good spice levels.
Awesome Indian food, good vegetarian options. I hope they bring back the lunch buffet!
Lamb kabob, samosas (appetizer)Kabul jamun (dessert), had drinks too, Uday was the waiter. Best Indian food hands down I’ve ever had. Add Thali. The portion size is huge, my gf loved it too
