I remember exactly who I was with the first time I had Devil’s Dill back in college, and I can’t say that about most places. They were the first to introduce me to good blue cheese, and I’ve never been disappointed since. Whoever the genius behind using kale instead of lettuce is, thank you. Screw Pizza Hut for making it a garnish, the way you use kale allows my sandwich to be just as delicious the next day without being soggy or limp. No one likes that in any context…

The last time I ate here, I watched an employee return to the kitchen after smoking a cigarette. They started touching kitchen items without washing their hands...The food is always excellent. The employees were obv overworked this night. Get your staff some help and cover basic sanitization procedures.

Mediocre sandwiches. The tuna was alright. The Italian was disappointing. Not worth the cost. The sandwiches are trying too hard to be unique, I think. The kale is drenched in something involving a lot of vinegar which really dominated the flavor of the Italian. Also, I do not think the ciabatta is a good choice of bread for all their sandwiches. Makes for a very dry sandwich. I had heard good things, but was disappointed.

Devil’s Dill is my go-to sandwich shop in Portland. The menu is simple yet unique and everything is delicious! The grilled bread adds an amazing charred flavor to each sandwich. Don’t skip this no-frills shop. It’s a winner.

If I could give them a 10, I would. I eat here regularly and the food is ALWAYS fresh and flavorful- the whole menus is absolutely delicious. Service is attentive and quick. I like to call ahead, and pickup is only a 15-20 minute wait. If you are craving a hearty sandwich in PDX, this is a must-try.

Ordered five sandwiches and five German potato salads as sides for me and my group, takeout. Got home, one of the sandwiches was incorrect, although I will say all the sandwiches ranged from above average to good in quality. The German potato salad however was a disaster. The potatoes had been WAY over boiled, they were mushy globs of water and whatever seasonings they used was incredibly bland. I'd go back again for just a sandwich, the homemade meatloaf in particular was my favorite. But avoid the potato salad!

I love sandwiches and this place has some great options! The Special is always unique and flavorful, the regular menu items are delicious and creative as well. I had the meatloaf sandwich on my last visit and loved it. The bread is perfect. Extra fun to go when there is a band playing next door!

One of the most under-hyped sandwich shops in the city. Always, try the monthly special. I've been pleasantly surprised by a few different unique sandos. That said, my go-to is the #4: red wine braised beef, onions, peppers, horseradish aioli. Delish. Veggie and vegan options. Gluten free available.

Limited menu but only because they’ve unlocked the best combos between bread ever conceived

This is easily my favorite sandwich place in town. The grilled mortadella sandwich is unbelievably good along with the braised beef and everything else I've tried. Ignore any negative reviews about service. Everyone here has been super friendly to me when I've come in and I actually appreciate the brevity of the encounters and that I'm not forced to engage in small talk. The sandwiches are always on point, done by the estimated time I've been given on the phone, and the service has been great.Did I mention the grilled mortadella? Do it. Just do it. The bar next door is awesome, and there's almost always good music playing. Do it.Edit: I also forgot to mention that I left my card there once and they were nice enough to chase me down to give it back even though the place was slammed. Seriously, I love this place.
