Had a great dining experience at DarSalam. The Tabouli is top notch, quite possibly my favorite. It has a nice amount of onions and tomatoes. I had the falafel rice plate which came with chickpea stew. The chickpea stew was quite good. My partner had lamb which he said excellent. The mint lemonade was also VERY REFRESHING. Thanks for a good time.
I had a great dinner experience in this unique Iraqi restaurant. One of the best lamb-shank with tasty rice and eggplant stew. It gives you Iraqi/Middle Eastern vibes and mood not just with food with the ambiance and the decoration of the restaurant as well. Worth to try and enjoy the real taste and flavors. Yousef did a great job with greeting, hosting and providing a nice&smiley customer service. Keep up the good work, guys! Shukran!
Best lamb we've ever had; a perfectly portioned plate of ghanoush, rice, salad and meat. The food here is full of flavor in every bite. The soup is delicious and hummus fresh. Excellent service, clean facility and beautiful ambiance.
Good food. Certain dishes had an interesting style (probably regional). Friendly service.Probably won't be regulars... What it boils down to is there's other Middle Eastern places that are about 95% as good for about 60% of the price. The unique flavors aren't really worth it to us.If money were no object we'd probably work our way through the menu.I hope they do well.
From the very beginning when we met Ghaith and Kelly, we loved their warmth, passion, and dedication to what they do. And then we tasted the food and wow, absolutely everything was delicious!! They were just wonderful to work with - catering our daughter's Bat Mitzvah and creating a beautiful event from start to finish. The presentation was gorgeous and everyone commented on how amazing the food was! Cannot rave enough about their catering - definitely recommend!!!
The lentil soup is a macerated version with a drizzle of perhaps olive oil and it is phenomenal. I also ordered the Iraqi shish kabob plate…I love the Iraqi Kefta kabob…this tasted …different…almost like they repurposed hamburger meat…something is off. I loved the fresh squeezed mint lemonade with rose water.
The atmosphere was wonderful, it really was. But the lamb was tough as nails. Yes, I love Iraqi food, and I thought I had dined at their other location, but I may have this place confused with another restaurant. The service was great, but honestly the food was not.
Dar Salam used to be one of my favorite places to eat. In fact, we recently returned from overseas and it was one of the places we talked about having a meal when we were home. Today we had the opportunity to have a meal @ Dar Salam and were excited to eat our favorite items. The first thing we noticed was the increase in prices. It had to be a 30% increase. But we understand the changing economy and city may have played a part in that so we were fine because the food would be worth it.We started with Adis. I noticed it was not the same consistency and missed the smooth texture I remembered. It seemed chunky and had just a bit too much turmeric. Still it wasn’t horrible. Our main course was the Falafel mezzo. The falafel was not the same in appearance as it used to be. The small donut styled falafel was one of the things we loved. Instead we received huge balls. Ok, we dug in. Even though we’re a bit concerned at this point and wondering if they changed owners. Baba ganoush, not the same but not bad. Hummus was just watery and bland and the falafel was completely uncooked in the center and inedible. We ended up returning the plate and not finishing our meal. Thankfully, they did not make us pay for any part of it.It’s too bad. This was such a great place to bring friends to or have a special night out.I’m wondering if it’s growing pains from the expansion efforts?
Beautiful restaurant filled with a variety of beautiful food from a beautiful family. Vegan options. Gluten free options. Happy hours weekdays. Iraqi beer options brewed local. Great adult beverages.
Really enjoyed my first trip here and can’t wait to come back. The staff was fantastic and took the time to go over some of the unfamiliar dishes on the menu. Loved the fresh lemonade and Arab coffee. My friend and I were both really pleased with the food. And on top of everything else it’s a very interesting and beautiful location.
