Absolute A+ experience. from start to finish, it was a home run. we sat at the bar, and our server/bartender Lauren was THE BEST. so helpful with the menu, gave great suggestions, gave us recommendations for drinks after dinner- really such a highlight to our night. the Foccacia was incredible, i had the squid ink pasta, which had the most stellar spicy broth, and my boyfriend had the rabbit dish & he is still talking about it. we had a bottle of fantastic local wine and finished the meal with an OUT OF BOUNDS chocolate mousse cake. we can't wait to come back. thank you, dame & Lauren!!!
Best under the radar restaurant in Portland!!! Small storefront on Killingsworth…. seating for maybe 20 Outstanding service..,., fresh made foods , wonderful place to dine
Went with a group of 8 and had an amazing pre-fixed menu which was such a good deal at 65pp not including drinks or tax. We absolutely loved every dish and the service was impeccable. I can’t wait to come back here.
Absolutely divine! Came here on a whim since they had reservations available last minute - so glad we did. The servers provided the best service and gave us great recommendations. We loved everything we ordered, the food melted in your mouth. Even though the portions were on the smaller side, they were surprisingly so filling! The restaurant is small and intimate, has a cozy and romantic ambience. On the more expensive side but worth it for quality of food and level of service. Will be back!
[update upon 5/7/2022 visit]Still perfect. We tried different menus this time and yet were surprised again. Even donuts were just came out of the oil and awesome.5/5 period.None of servers was in tux, yet the service was top-notch--Used plates were replaced, bread crumbs were cleared. We had a truffle-stuffed triangoli and a squid pasta. We've seen restaurants used truffle salt or truffle oil for the flavor, but this place uses actual minced-truffle. What a nice surprise. The squid pasta was just amazing. I almost used an f word in my first bite. Pasta itself was awesome too, but the base soup of the squid pasta was better than famous cioppino from Sotto Mare in SF. Overall, the pastas was comparable or better than Rosmarino. As for the dessert, chocolate mousse was great, but the cannoli sundae outshined. Another wow ice cream since Bos Taurus in Bend. Will definitely revisit and try all items in the menu.
I haven't had the pleasure of Dame in person, however, a friend of mine was having a Bachelorette dinner there, and I wanted to surprise her with a bottle of wine. They were so accommodating and helped me place my order over the phone and even included the message I asked for. They made it so seamless that my surprise went off without a hitch; I 10/10 would recommend. Their food looks amazing, their wine menu is extensive and fantastic, and they were so helpful with my request all the way from Texas that I have no doubt that anyone would have a great experience here.
Dame is a tiny little place that is completely charming! The staff was great. We are at the bar and the bartender was fantastic. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. I only took a pic of my dish... but we also had olives, foccacia and the bolognese. Oh - and the special Cannoli ice cream sundae dessert? Omg, if they have it while you are there - don't think twice - just order it.
Wonderful experience. Great food, fantastic service, excellent wine, and a really nice atmosphere. A hidden neighborhood gem for sure!We ordered the carpaccio, broccoli (incredible), bison ragú, squash risotto (the star of the show), and the cheesecake. Everything was great!Next time I would get the ricotta donuts over the cheesecake though.
Our daughter took my wife and me to Dame during our trip to Portland to visit her this past September. It has a good atmosphere and a good vibe. We started off by sharing some marinated olives and focaccia. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which was excellent. Overall, I can recommend Dame for the good Italian food that I ordered.
Nice wine selections, friendly staff, and great pasta -- I usually don't order meatball spaghetti but we had to when we saw the huge meatballs being served to the table next to us, and it was a good choice to do so.
