I've been to Crema twice so far when I've needed to travel to Portland. Once was still during COVID lockdowns and now recently when those restrictions have lifted. This business has chosen to maintain the COVID restrictions just like during lockdown - meaning there's no indoor seating, you can't get to their items in fridges (there's signs saying something like STOP! We'll get that for you!), and masks are required to go inside. I'm not political about masks vs. no masks - I'm just sick of having restrictions & Crema almost feels like "COVID PTSD" because the restrictions continue there.Additionally, they use largely natural lighting inside the shop, which doesn't work well for this store's layout - it makes some parts of the store hard to see (like their display cases) or some areas, like the alcove leading to their bathrooms, flat out dark and dangerous - meaning you can't see well. If I was vision impaired, I think I'd have a really hard time with this shop.Their bathrooms are....creepy - the walls are heavily decorated with very random, busy, and somewhat unsettling artwork - that's not what I want to see when I use the restroom. I'm glad they had one available, but another thing to note is that the toilet itself is loose - meaning that I could rock it from side to side...definitely needs to be fixed.I was planning on getting a drink and a pastry, but since I couldn't see the case well enough, I stuck with just a latte. I thought the latte was pretty interesting - I had a rose latte with homemade rose syrup. I also appreciated the beautiful latte pour on top.It was a rainy day & I would've liked to have remained inside, but alas, I had to leave to drink my drink. Thankfully there's a large outdoor tent right next to Crema, but it's still a lot colder than being indoors.I hope that Crema will eventually lift their restrictions and allow customers to sit inside and use their space again. If they continue to remain "locked down" I'll just go to Starbucks nearby.
Stared going to this store at the start of the pandemic! They truly kept such an upbeat and pleasant experience during the consistent changes that happened the past two years. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and always has been. I live in Beaverton but the trip is always worth it. Yesterday a friend and I went in for coffee and treats, the brista was so warm and welcoming. And made suggestions for trying to items. Made the trip a complete delight .
Half of the time, it's great and the other half, not so great. I don't know why some baristas think they can be snobby and we will think it's cool, like we will admire them. I've been a barista. It's not cool to be snobby, okay? People usually are not getting coffee to relax after a hard day's work. They are getting it before work. And thanks for keeping us in the pandemic world. Most of the city has moved past the mask mandate and have gotten back to normal life. If you demand masks, make sure you are not running out of masks in your basket. Maybe spend less on the million fancy signs you have up about masks and get a box for the customers who need them? And maybe some actual seating for customers who have to wait 30 minutes under your tent for a latte?
Great aesthetics, but not too much flavor.
Great customer service and nice choices. The options look delightful. However, they are good but just a little blan other than the California cookie; it's full of flavor.
Staff were very nice and quick and efficient. Loved the covid precautions they were taking, felt very safe. The americano I had was delicious! Well definitely visit them again for coffee for sure!
Great coffee, delicious pastries (cinnamon rolls - OMG), friendly staff and super covid-safe. Hope to come back when we can eat in again, seems like a really nice place.
Consistently the best coffee in town. I the pastry selection is tremendous and always tasty. I particularly enjoy the Banana bundt cake
Yummy Spanish coffee. I got the quiche which was good, but they put the salad on top of the quiche in this flimsy paper box so it was difficult to eat. The chocolate croissant didn’t quite meet expectations since there was hardly any chocolate in it. I would still recommend coming here for coffee.
Crema has the best coffee and amazing baked goods and breakfasts items. Never disappoints
