GREAT food and service! This was my first time stopping at Clyde's for a meal, after having driven right past it for the last 30 years. The food was excellent and prepared exactly as we ordered. Our wait staff was professional, attentive and prompt. We had a great experience and hope to make it in to one of our regular hangouts. Live jazz in the lounge on weekends (possibly more often, I am unsure). I really loved the retro feel of the interior: velvety, artistic and unique. They offer a great selection of house specialty cocktails and high-quality menu items. Highly recommended!
Prior to last night's visit we had only been for happy hour. Boy, we've been missing out! Service was great but the food was spectacular. Perfectly seasoned steaks, delicious salads and delectable spinach dip. The drinks were well made as well. We'll be back for dinner soon! Booths could use some shoring up. We had to scoot around to find a spot we didn't sink down into.

So the food was a 5 Star ***** experience. My Steak was a perfect medium rare and so tender and delicious, my gf has the lobster Mac and scalloped cauliflower and they were both phenomenal. I've had the prime rib previously and it's excellent too. However the service on my last visit was horrible, the waitress couldn't have been faker, it was so pretentiously over the top forest fake kindness and interest that it was almost disturbing. I ordered a ribeye steak and I asked for it medium rare. Before we arrived I verbally communicated to my girlfriend I don't want prime rib tonight I feel like a steak. So I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare, and was mistakenly brought a medium rare prime rib. Prime rib / ribeye medium rare sound similar I'm at a prime rib restaurant it's noisy I get it. Wasn't upset at all and I mean what it takes 5 minutes to fire a medium rare steak and I eat faster than my girlfriend anyways, so not a problem. But the expeditor the guy that brings the food to the table he didn't take my order but he insisted that I ordered prime rib not ribeye and then when I stood my ground and said no I promise you sir I ordered ribeye, he literally rolled his eyes and blew air out his nose and mouth like he was perturbed and put out, and how dare I correct my order and literally stomped off. I looked at my girlfriend and we both said wow awkward uncomfortable not cool, but wait it gets worse they send over the top waiters back to my table and she bends down and gets close in to me and says you ordered prime rib I wrote it down you're wrong sir and I said no I promise you that I'm right I had a conversation before I came here what I was going to eat I specifically didn't want prime rib I ordered the ribeye I'm sorry that you heard it wrong and that it came out wrong but I ordered ribeye not prime rib and she literally blew air out her nose like she was perturbed and mumbles I don't think so and leaves the table upset. I don't know maybe the expeditor and the waitress they get charged back for screwed up orders I don't know not my problem and it's a prime rib restaurant I guarantee you one of the next orders in line was most likely a medium rare prime rib they didn't have to throw it away. It was like they were doing me a favor by giving me what I ordered. If the food wasn't so good I would say never go there, hopefully the waitress and expeditor were just having bad days. This was Saturday February 12th 2022. Hopefully the owner of Clyde's reads this because it's definitely a training moment I personally would fire the employees that treated my customers like that but like I said maybe they're having a bad day hopefully you use this as a training moment
I’m relatively new to Portland. Ben, the chef & team, just outstanding for my mother in laws 77th birthday. Awesomeness! Thank you all. G: 5 stars! Everything was just perfect for her evening. We’ll done!
The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection! The broccoli was amazing, just all-around a great lunch
The best prime rib in town.
I love the ambiance and service here! I always get a bacon wrapped filet and salad. The wine is good and the drinks are stiff. This place feels like you are stepping back in time. They have a great happy hour as well.
Really happy with the food at Clyde's. The place was packed and I now see why. I had the prime rib and Louie salad. The salad was a little tart but very good. The prime rib was cooked perfectly. Will definitely go back.
The steak is pretty stellar here and reminds me of the old blue collar ness that used to be Portland. The ambience is rad and the food is great! The prices are alright too and the service was awesome!
