In a city of "foodie" spots I'm always looking for a real place that can really cook with the menu to match, and here it is! Service leaves nothing to be desired, they're perfect, and you won't even realize until you leave that they were super attentive and you never had to ask for water or anything even once. Food was such a refreshing break from all the weird restaurants shooting for the fusion cuisine moon, and everything was instead just straight forward and super tasty (except the pepperoni, it's ground instead of flattened but still amazing, just surprising). Steak is cooked too their doneness and it's perfect. The ragu reminds me of warming up at my grandma's house in the winter. Not sure if this place is on a PDX "list", but it kinda deserved to be packed...a hidden gem for now!
The two of us split everything and it was all great. Everything was cooked well with great flavor and service. This is going on list of places I take my friends when they come visit pdx
My goodness, pasta and pizza cannot get any better! All the pastas have so much flavor and are cooked perfectly. The pizza is think crust and superb to the taste!! The lighting is typically a little darker but it gives moodiness to the vibe. 10/10
Not what it used to be.Ordered Caesar Salad, Farro Salad, Pollo Frito for appetizers. All came out excellent, especially the caesar with anchovies. The drinks were off compared to usual. Lemon drop was extremely sour, as was the whisky sour. Too much sour in the drinks to balance the alcohol.Ordered Steak Tenderloin, Chicken Beef Pork Bolognese, and Pesto spaghetti. (The menu has recently changed significantly, no salmon penne). This is where the meal fell apart. The steak was beyond well done (pics included), Bolognese was devoid of flavor extremely under salted, the only flavor present was tomato. Pesto was acceptable, but relatively simple, would’ve loved to see a protein added to the dish.
looks good, but looks are deceiving. the cheese they use to make their margherita pizzas is super loaded with sodium. couldn't chew/swallow without drinking 2 glasses of water. could not finish and gave it to my neighbor instead. change the cheese! if you like super salty, you'll like this one.
First time and probably last due to customer service. Upon being seated it was as if the ordering water, to the drinks and then sides/appetizers all had a 10-12 minute timer between them. There is nothing special about their bread loaf so don’t get it. I think we sat for 25 minutes before we even got to put our pizza order in. Waitress not really servicing at all/being ignorant (never brought a few things we asked for) and restaurant wasn’t even full. Drink refills sat at the bar for 10mins. Pizza sat at bar for 5mins before being brought to table. At the end we tried seeking attention for about 10mins just to ask for box and bill.
The stomp sphere, food, dessert and drinks here were incredible! We had the fig jam pizza and tiramisu and would definitely come back for the same dishes again. The cocktails were also delicious and beautiful.
One word we can describe this place is tasty. It bring us back to pizza in Italy. The cheese were cheesy, the pizza has the right amount of crunch and flavor. We order pizza with orange spritzer, and it was AMAZING. Highly recommend go here if you are in pdx.
I was really excited to try the food given the amazing reviews! However, we showed up an hour before closing and were informed that they were no longer seating parties of four. Immediately after being denied service, two parties of two were seated. I’m hoping that they had reservations and I misunderstood or the team wanted to be closed by 10. I wish they had been more transparent.
I ordered a pizza from here. I had it delivered to my hotel. The pizza was very good. It was thin crust and well made. I’d order from here again.
