Superb spot for breakfast. Huge menu with something for everyone including the vegan in our party. The food was excellent, all plates cleared. I was particularly impressed by the serving staff. All bright, sparky & efficient. We were served by Jennifer who was lovely. It makes such a difference to the enjoyment of a meal when the service is good.

Portuguese fried rice was great! Sausage was a little crispy with a nice spicy flavor. Great idea for breakfast starch instead of usual potatoes. I’d give a 5-star if the service was as good as the food.

The staff was efficient and really nice, and the food was fabulous. I got French toast with lemon curd & blueberries on their suggestion and it was perfection. I also got a pineapple rum drink which I highly recommend. Everything was really good, nothing felt rushed but the wait was really minimal. Would definitely go again.

Brought our food out extremely fast. Tasted good. couldn't finish it all. Normally there is a long line and we usually don't go here but today we got right in. I was skeptical about the food but it was on point. Friendly service. Seating felt stacked on top of each other. They were friendly

We arrived before 9:00AM and had about a 20 minute wait. I loved seeing and feeling a positive and celebratory restaurant in downtown Portland! They have created a lot of seating on the street and they seemed to have the staff to support the extra seating. I enjoy eating different things for breakfast and the menu has lots of unique options. My Portuguese Fried Rice with Linguisa was delicious. We were given complimentary Beignets with breakfast. The food arrived quickly. You are able to order a coffee drink while you wait. Next time I visit I will plan ahead and get a reservation!

First, I was initially impressed when I called to make a reservation. The person on the other side of the phone was extremely friendly, helpful, inviting and accommodating. Upon arriving at the restaurant, which is very conveniently placed and easy to get to, I was met by very attentive, sparkly, talkative and helpful staff member and was seated immediately. The greeter, I later found out, just happened to be the restaurant owners’ daughter. She was amazing! She was extremely informative, about the menu, the history of the restaurant, how it got started and how they ended up at their currently location. She made us feel like she wanted us to be there, and not like she was in a rush to get someone else in the door, which always transmits a sense of business confidence and ownership of the quality of the product the business has to offer. After taking her time with us, she eventually introduced us to our waitress (Mercedes) who was definitely on point. Our food was ordered and on the table within minutes, but before our orders were brought out, they continuously checked on us and brought out fresh Beignets for us to taste while we waited. Honestly, I could go on for a few minutes, writing great details about the quality of the service but I will summarize it and spare you the long dragged-out description by letting you know the services is hands down 1000 out 10. Now the Food: I was there for breakfast and based on the owner’s daughter’s recommendation I had the Portuguese Fired Rice. She recommended as one of the restaurant's staple platters and OMG I am so glad I went for it over other staple platters. I came into the restaurant with a desire to eat corned beef for breakfast, so I also order a side of Corned-beef when I initially ordered my Portuguese Fried Rice not realizing how much food I had just ordered. The portion was huge and at first, I thought I was not going to be able to eat it all, but then I took ONE bite! “It was at this point; I knew I screwed up” I could not put the damn fork down after my initial bite! The side of Corned Beef ended up getting mixed in my main plate and complemented it quite well, but it quickly disappeared along with everything else. I WAS STUFFED!!! but the food was heaven on earth and each time I took a bite, my mouth just exploded with flavor, perfect texture, balanced salt to spice ratios and it was all sprinkled with a very pleasant after-taste left behind by the abundantly yet perfectly/evenly distributed pieces of Linguica sausage and bacon. As I write this and remember the experience my mouth just started watering. The platter has linguica sausage over bacon and egg fried rice, with green onion and sliced avocado topped by two fried eggs. Then, top it off, we ordered mimosas, but all the varieties of flavor choices sounded absolutely delicious and left me somewhat disappointed that I couldn't taste them all. Well, I was not disappointed for long, because they offered us a combo, which entailed getting a whole bottle of Champaign with 4 different types of juice mixtures that could be shared. That was definitely worth it and absolutely tasty. At the end, my girlfriend had not finished her entire plate and they were super insistent (In an extremely pleasant way) that she should take her leftovers to go, and to top things off they gave her one of their signature cinnamon rolls to go as lagniappe. OVERALL THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL!!!!

Great food and engaging staff! The menu is varied - an excellent brunch location with a fun and lively atmosphere.

Different.I enjoyed it. It was a busy restaurant on a downtown street in Portland. The line was long and I probably waited about 30 minutes (I was alone). Then they tried to seat me with a woman who was alone … in one of the little cabanas outside! Those are totally private. They shut the door and you are completely alone in there. Honestly, a little weird. I politely declined. The cabanas are interesting and might be fun to eat in if you have a party of people. They’re basically like little plastic sheds though … different and unique but not completely inviting.Anyway, I got to sit inside. The coffee was not very strong and my omelette was so-so. Not really worth the long wait. The atmosphere was fun. The service was pretty good. The ambience was nice. But I probably won’t be taking people here in the future.

The food was cooked to perfection here today , Prime Rib French dip with fries, and a Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with a garden salad. It was 1:00 pm and it was pretty busy. In my opinion the tables were way to small, it was difficult to have drinks and food on the table at the same time. The staff was very friendly as well as having good service I would highly recommend Cheryl's on 12th.

This is a cute little place to eat we went for breakfast and I had the fritawhich and it was absolutely delicious. I recommend this place to anyone visiting portland.
