This is the Captains Plate at 'Year of the Fish'. Worth every bit of $22. The french fries are cut by hand, less than 10 minutes before you ordered the french fries, the breading is cornstarch, you get lemon wedges but I told them to not give me any ketchup, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or a plastic fork, because I carry my own metal one.
They have really fixed up the place in the last year and I love going here. This is my go-to place for good outdoor food. A great selection of food carts for all desires. Juanita's is my personal favorite.
I chose the all plant based vegan ramen cart.I can't say enough good things. So good. Nice staff. I would say one of the best vegan ramen bowls in PDX.
Some of the best carts in one spot. Especially love Juanita's Mexican food, her sauces are fantastic. Try the chipotle. Then the is The Egg Carton. Some of the best breakfast items in the city. Freshly made, locally sourced, and a touch of love in each tasty item. Breakfast sandwiches can't be beat. So yummy!
they have a great range of carts here, but the parking is absolutely dismal, especially when it's busy and people actually want to eat. you have to be willing to walk quarter to a half a mile and pray that your car doesn't get broken into while you're eating.
This is now my go-to daily coffee stop. Organic espresso, the best waffles in town, friendly smiling faces and convenient location. My faves are the Hive Mind Latte and the Rose City Tea latte. Delish!!
Amazing food! Especially Lady Latke and Year of the Fish!
They are super friendly have a lot of gluten free options and delicious food! The hours are open amazingly late sometimes and they don't mind if you take your time to enjoy your meal they just appreciate your business:) *update: still stellar!
There's something for everyone. Word to the wise, almost every cart shuts down by 8PM! *Not good for late night.* That said, decently convenient spot with multiple Mexican offerings, seafood, cajun, even latkes! There's a bar in the back and plenty of table space for daytime eats.
Over the past 2 years I witnessed three maybe four carts open , those three would be the "Gumbo" "the year of the fish and the "teriyaki " stand and now I witnessed a fourth card open the "brisket barbecue stand" all these are delicious I've had food from all of them and have no complaints about the food or the service " The year of the fish" is my favorite they serve the best prawns and their fish fillets of salmon halibut cod and snapper have no match here in Portland they are superior and have gluten-free batter on request second to no one five and a half stars to "the year of the fish"
