Food was incredible!! My beef isn't with the beef, or the kitchen at all.The second the waitress found out we were there for Nacho Week service fell through the floor. After ordering she only came to see us to leave drinks and food. Promised to bring water, never came back. We wanted to order more drinks and another appetizer, but she just kept ignoring us. Empty plates and glasses on the table for a good fifteen minutes before we finally flagged her down for a bill that took another eight minutes to arrive. I wish I could remember her name.Oh, the best part... We felt she didn't deserve a tip and didn't leave one. She disagreed and added one anyway. As I type this I'm on hold with my credit card company disputing the charges.

Solid tacos and margs spot for a casual weekday dinner. I had the short rib and pork tacos both of which were well filled with the base protein and toppings. I would’ve gotten a third taco to be extra filled but shared chips and salsa. The chips have an interesting sweetened flavor to them. I also had the prickly pear margarita and it was very delicious and not overly sweet. Would come again to try other appetizer items on the menu that sounded interesting.

Stopped here for a quick bite before driving back up to Seattle after a recommendation from my tattoo artist. My boyfriend and I each got 3 tacos (vegetarian for me and meat-eating for him) and shared the elote.?Elote: 5/5 - Shared the elote to start and it was soo delicious. I could eat this everyday. I also appreciate that they don’t bring it out scalding hot so you can eat it right away without burning yourself like I usually do on corn ? Black kale and mountain spinach: 3/5 - Delicious, but I wouldn’t order again. I felt this needed something more “meaty” and substantial and also more sauce. This is a tasty way to get your greens in though, especially with the salsa verde! I did love the corn in this one.? Wild hongos (mushroom): 4/5 - Flavorful and substantial. I'm not the biggest fan of arugula but most mushroom lovers would love this one.? Aguacates (avocado): 5/5 - By far my favorite of the 3 vegetarian tacos. I loved the addition of black beans and slaw on this one. Would absolutely order this again! My boyfriend tried 3 different tacos and stack-ranked them:3 - ? Blackened salmon2 - ? Smoked Carlton Farm's pork belly1 - ? Piedmontese short ribPretty fast and reasonably priced. For the two of us with one coke came out to around $50. Would recommend if you're in the area!

Go on a Tuesday when they have taco flights. The aguacate taco was AMAZING. Also, make sure to try the flan. It was the silkiest, most delicious flan I’ve ever had in my life. The house margarita was tasty and so was the Ay Dios Mio cocktail if you like a little spice in your life!

Carlita's is one of my favorite places to visit in Portland. Delicious food and drinks!??Recently my husband and I visited this lovely little place for a date day!?Great atmosphere and the staff is so friendly! I knew what I wanted to eat but I was undecided when it came to picking a cocktail ?(I was mulling over if I wanted a Margarita or some else altogether). Our waitress encouraged me in the margarita direction and recommended their limit time kiwi blend... and their passion fruit blend.? I'm not much of a kiwi person so I decided to go with passion fruit and I'm soooo glad I did it was delicious! ??If you're looking for a fun place to eat and drink, you can't go wrong with Carlita's! ??

Great tacos! Nice little joint. We appreciate the opportunity to visit this restaurant on multiple occasions. We all had tacos and everyone enjoyed them. Plenty of selections of meet to put into the tacos and definitely a great flavor.

I've purchased delivery from Carlita's several times recently and the food items I've had were all fantastic. However (and this is a big however), the margaritas are essentially virgin. They come in these cute plastic bags with a spout that allow you to store them easily, so I bought three and tossed two in the freezer. I went to get one just now for an afternoon treat and it was frozen solid, which would not happen if there was alcohol present (it''d be a slushy). I am deeply disappointed in what appears to be a scam to get a few extra bucks from customers. Go for the food, but make the margaritas yourself.UPDATE: I'm beyond pleased to see Carlita's response and quick resolution to my (admittedly grumpy) comment. I didn't expect it (thanks, guys!), and great customer service goes a long way with me. As noted above, I think the food is great and I will continue to patronize these folks and hope you do the same.

Sad to say I won't go back here.First - the food. I ordered a mushroom taco that was just a big, soggy, overcooked pile of kale and arugula with no spices and the tiniest bit of mushroom. It was advertised as having "kale slaw". In what world is slaw sauteed, and why would anyone sautee arugula? It just makes it bitter. The ceviche was 90% big chunks of flavorless tomato. Ceviche should be 90% fish, 10% onion, cilantro, lime, and leche de tigre and mayyyybe some tomato. You are doing something so wrong if you expect people to pay $10 for a tiny bowl of cold, flavorless roma tomato chunks, and $5 for a bland, wet, pile of kale on a cold tortilla. That said, the drinks were good.Second - service is real bad. When we arrived, the restaurant was virtually empty with most people seated outside. We waited 15 minutes to speak to a hostess, but it seemed like there was none, and all the servers averted their eyes and ignored us while standing and chatting idly to one another. Finally, they told us it would be 30 minutes - despite the many open tables - without explanation. When we asked if we could wait for our table at the bar (also pretty empty), we were told by a very confused-looking and impatient server that that would not be possible and its against policy. Again, no explanation. When we were finally seated 30 minutes later at a table that had been open since the beginning, we were subjected to overhearing loud complaints by the staff about other patrons.I get that its rough for servers and restaurants right now, and perhaps they were missing a hostess and were resentful about having to seat people, but come on. Be civil. And as for the food, the kitchen is in desperate need of a trip to the spice shop and a recipe book.

i was so excited to try something different in the pearl but what did i expect? White washed “mexican cuisine” :/ will not be returning. service was poor but at least the music was good

I ordered Tosadas and loved it. The sauce was so flavourful. The complementary chips and salsa were fresh and yumm ! Good options for vegetarians as well.
