It feels like time moves slowly here, this is not a place you go in a hurry. It's somewhere where you can relax and chat away while you wait for your meal to be made. Pancake balls seemed popular from what we could see others ordering. We had the steelhead cakes w/ eggs Benedict and the lost eggs (baked eggs) with creamed spinach ham and mushroom. I found the flavouring to be a little salty but the food was well cooked and well presented. Will come back for the pancake balls and lemon curd when we have the time again.

Be prepared to wait for unique, yummy, and well-prepared Scandinavian dishes, as the restaurant is at decreased capacity due to covid safety. The wait is at least made easier by the ability to order a variety of drinks from the bar and walking around to learn about Scandinavian history in the Portland area. The ingredients in our meals were fresh, and one of our party members who ordered the steelhead hash said the fish was perfect. Service was friendly and organized, but it's pretty loud and you might miss your name being called if you're not waiting nearby the host stand.

Best Scandinavian restaurant west of Reykjavik! This is a rather small operation with limited hours, so don't whine about having to wait for a table. The wonderful food offerings are quite different from the American palate- so make the adjustment. Perhaps the most enjoyable experience for us is the authentic wood and glass modern Scandinavian architecture- lots of light and very roomy. The greeters and servers have always been very friendly and genuine. So come on in and experience great food and pretend that you are in the old part of Stockholm (Gamlestan) for an hour, while you dream of your next Scandinavian adventure!

Such a high quality meal and experience. Food is made with such care and authenticity. Highly recommend.Be prepared to wait on the weekends.

What’s an ableskiver? We’ll you better go find out! There is a long wait to get in, but once you experience this restaurant you’ll realize why it’s worth the wait!

Great place great atmosphere great food

Broder Söder is amazing, and my favorite of the 3. Not only is the food amazing, the drinks are great, but it’s also in the middle of a Scandinavian cultural center. Art, gardens, a shop. So much! I love it here. Had a wonderful anniversary brunch with my wife. Since we were married in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, this was a wonderful treat.

This is my favorite Nordic restaurant in Portland. It was here where I discovered the æbleskiver and fell so deeply in love that I went back home and made it almost everyday for a year ??. Those and the Swedish hash are my favorite menu items! The only con is that it’s not easy finding your way into the restaurant since it’s inside a cultural center. Staff are nice and very accommodating ❤️

The restaurant is located inside Nordia House. They have yummy foods and a cute atmosphere. Good place for brunch! Just pay attention when you’re turning left or right to get into their parking lot - you might miss it if you’re driving too fast.
